The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, John Kavanagh and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Soares.
A big left from Soares misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Ham looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Soares lands a body shot.
Soares clinches with his opponent.
Ham definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Soares struggles to land a body shot inside as Ham controls his hands.
Ham wants a takedown but no success here.
Ham tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Soares working some nice short punches in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ham is looking to control Soares's arms but Soares gets an underhook and turns him. Now Ham has his back to the cage.
Ham tries to break free but Soares pushes him back against the cage.
Soares breaks the clinch.
A head kick misses from Ham.
A punch lands to the side of Ham 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Gilbervan Soares is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ham takes one to the side of the head.
Ham walks into a straight right hand from Soares.
Soares lands a nice hook to Ham's body. Ham takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Horrible takedown attempt by Ham or perhaps it was just good defense by Soares, which made it look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jack Ham. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soares moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ham doesn't manage to clinch there - Soares circles away.
Soares looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Ham shoots and misses
and Soares counters with a stiff right hand.
Ham doesn't succeed with the takedown
enabling Soares to counter with a crisp jab.
Ham is breathing heavily.
Soares works Ham's body with a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ham on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Ham doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ham takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Soares ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Soares lands a left and a right that send Ham crashing to the mat, dazed. Soares thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Jack Ham has been cut.
Ham takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Soares digs a good hook to Ham's body.
Soares cracks Ham with an open hand slap.
Soares lands a big uppercut and Ham crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Ham looks OK. Soares waves Ham back to his feet!
Ham is rocked!
Soares fakes the body blow, causing Ham to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Ham goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gilbervan Soares!
