The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett shoots for a takedown but Schilling saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bennett slips under a jab from Schilling.
Schilling slips a straight right by Bennett.
Schilling with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Schilling stalks Bennett and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bennett's face. Bennett staggers backwards, shaken.
Schilling swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Schilling thuds a left hand into Bennett's body.

Bennett drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Schilling tries to get to full guard but Bennett has control of the leg.

Bennett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Schilling looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Schilling looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Schilling!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bennett tries to bench press Schilling off him but Schilling keeps the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bennett is not content to let Schilling control the position.

Schilling is taking a breather. Bennett says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Bennett is looking for a sweep. Schilling is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Bennett on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bennett tries to get out of the position.
Bennett is pressing down on Schilling's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Schilling got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bennett has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schilling has managed to get both his arms back between Bennett's legs - danger averted.

Bennett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Schilling can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
