CACC 60 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Takeya Aoki (ranked 2859 p4p, 157 weight class) and Klaus Chugman (ranked 906 p4p, 50 weight class). Aoki comes to the ring accompanied by Baka Survivor. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the bantamweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of London, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 7 losses; Takeya Aoki! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 4 losses; Klaus Chugman!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Aoki rushes Chugman and presses him up against the ropes.

Chugman tightens his grip and picks Aoki up, before dumping him to the ground. Aoki manages to land in guard.

Aoki looking to hit a scissor sweep but Chugman is one step ahead there.
Chugman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aoki swivels though and keeps the full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chugman is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Aoki looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Chugman puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Aoki working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chugman doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chugman manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Chugman tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chugman has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

We've been hearing good reports from Aoki's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chugman working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Aoki has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Chugman is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Aoki.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Aoki tries to buck Chugman off but Chugman is having none of it.
Aoki sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Chugman is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Aoki throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Chugman escapes and throws Aoki's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Chugman takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Chugman seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Aoki is holding on tight.
Aoki can't escape the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Chugman tries to control but Aoki wriggling away.

Chugman wins on points by 27 to 2.
Klaus Chugman gave a mention to IniTech Nutrition in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
In defeat, Takeya Aoki stepped up to the mic, saying 'I must return to the Troid gym in London, to train more.'.
