PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Lorenzo Turturro (ranked 652 p4p, 21 weight class) and Cyril Makarenko (ranked 11743 p4p, 164 weight class). Makarenko has chosen Macarena - Original version as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makarenko misses the shot to the body.
Makarenko takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Turturro swings for the body but Makarenko moves out of range.
Turturro jabs Makarenko to the body, keeping him at a distance.
An inside leg kick from Makarenko misses.

Turturro fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Turturro ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Makarenko with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Turturro to score with a decent uppercut.
Makarenko comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Turturro is looking to wear down Makarenko with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Turturro looks to land a right hand but Makarenko moved out of range.
Makarenko was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Makarenko on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Turturro lands a really nice looking cross but Makarenko seems unphased.

Makarenko is rocked!
Makarenko throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Turturro throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Makarenko stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Makarenko ducks into a a hook from Turturro and goes down! He looks in a bit of a mess; will he beat the count?! 4,5,6,7,8 - he's up and looking to carry on! The referee looks into his eyes and sees that he's OK to continue!
Makarenko is still on wobbly legs! Can Turturro finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Turturro throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Makarenko seems to have recovered his senses.
Makarenko lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Turturro circles away quickly and effectively.

Turturro catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! Makarenko stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? Makarenko walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!

Turturro scores a flash knockdown with a right hook that drops Makarenko to his hands and knees! The ref pushes Turturro away as he looks to land an illegal blow. Makarenko got an extra few seconds to recover there, which could have made all the differences as he stumbles back to his feet. The referee looks into his eyes and decides to allow the bout to continue. Can he survive?!
Turturro is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Turturro scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Turturro knocks out Makarenko with a massive right hand! The ref tackles Turturro before he can follow up with any more strikes and that's it everyone. Turturro picks up the big W with a huge KO!

After the fight, Lorenzo Turturro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
