The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barbosa scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Barbosa throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Barbosa is in Rogers's guard.

Nice uppercut lands for Barbosa. That snapped Rogers's head back.
Rogers takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

It looks like Zack Rogers has been cut.

Rogers shoots for a takedown but Barbosa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rogers swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Barbosa counters with a nice uppercut.

Barbosa bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Barbosa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Barbosa lands with a kick to the ribs.

Barbosa drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Rogers is defending against the submission attempts here by Barbosa.

Barbosa is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Barbosa gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Barbosa lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Rogers with a poor takedown
and Barbosa counters with a stiff right hand.

Barbosa thuds his right hand into Rogers's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Barbosa closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rogers to the mat! Rogers manages to get full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Rogers is working an open guard so Barbosa takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

and Barbosa counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Barbosa cracks Rogers with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Barbosa lands a jab to Rogers's midsection.
Daniel Barbosa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nice combo by Barbosa! Oh, that's hurt him - Rogers falls to the canvas and Barbosa follows him into side control.

Barbosa is working to tighten his grip on Rogers's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Rogers has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Barbosa is really squeezing tight and eventually Rogers passes out! Barbosa breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
