Coming up we have a bantamweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Bryson Pico (ranked 3396 p4p, 180 weight class) and Caio Barbosa (ranked 2634 p4p, 141 weight class). Pico kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Lowkey - G-Eazy. Caio Barbosa acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the ring.

And in the blue corner, fighting out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 4 losses; Caio Barbosa!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Barbosa working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pico doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pico manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pico content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Barbosa has locked up a guillotine! Barbosa's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Pico is holding on here and Barbosa must be using up a lot of energy. Pico has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Barbosa gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Caio Barbosa was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Bryson Pico was interviewed post fight and said 'The fans deserved a better performance from me. I will not let them down again.'. |
