Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dick Pawlik (ranked 21987 p4p, 508 weight class) and Koba Dvalishvili (ranked 22614 p4p, 489 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Koba Dvalishvili!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pawlik cracks Dvalishvili with a right hand to the side of the head.
Pawlik ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dvalishvili moves away.
As Pawlik backs off Dvalishvili throws a huge counter combo but Pawlik manages to avoid it all.
Pawlik takes a swing at Dvalishvili's ribcage but misses.
Dvalishvili misses with a head kick.
Pawlik changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Dvalishvili slips under a jab.
Dvalishvili wants to counter the offense by Pawlik and move into the clinch position.
Pawlik fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dvalishvili keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Pawlik closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pawlik drops back looking for a leg! Dvalishvili is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dvalishvili manages to kick Pawlik off! Pawlik jumps back into Dvalishvili's guard.

Dvalishvili felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Dvalishvili got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pawlik has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dvalishvili has managed to get both his arms back between Pawlik's legs - danger averted.

That was a close second round but I would say that Dick Pawlik will probably get the nod.
