Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Zheko Mladenov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Dwayne Banks!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mladenov jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Banks is defended easily by Mladenov.
Mladenov misses the jab.
Mladenov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mladenov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mladenov scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Banks moves in looking to clinch but Mladenov pushes him off.
Mladenov keeps the fight on the outside.
Banks cracks a nice hook into Mladenov's ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A swing and a miss from Mladenov.
Mladenov blocks a head kick by Banks.
Mladenov misses with an uppercut. Banks saw that one coming.
Mladenov throws a hook but Banks avoids it easily.
Banks tries to score a power double leg takedown but Mladenov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Banks somewhat.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The fighters circling - Mladenov throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Banks tries to clinch up but Mladenov circles away and keeps his distance.
Banks dives in for a single leg takedown but Mladenov sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Zheko Mladenov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dwayne Banks.
Banks tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Mladenov swivels and escapes.
Mladenov throws a jab when Banks was well out of range.
Mladenov throws a hook to the side of Banks's head but Banks sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Banks wants to counter with a clinch but Mladenov pushes him away.
Banks darts in looking for a takedown but Mladenov gets double underhooks and turns Banks into the cage.
Mladenov is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Banks's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.
Banks shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mladenov pinned against the cage. Mladenov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Banks walks into a stiff left hand from Mladenov.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mladenov pounces like a tiger and cracks Banks with a vicious hook! Banks is down but not out! Mladenov follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Zheko Mladenov!
