The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Downes shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Downes was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Downes takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Downes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Muratov sees it coming and defends easily.

Downes decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

I think Hendrix might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rage Against the Machine - Renegades of Funk. Dmitry Muratov will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.
