Dippe looking to improve position, pressing down on Mozart's thigh with his hand. Mozart seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Dippe paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Dippe's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Mozart picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Amadeus Mozart!
Amadeus Mozart seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.

and Valens counters with a shoot takedown. Dippe fights it but they end up in guard.
Dippe is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Valens dives into side control. #REVR##SUB2#
Valens is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Dippe looks calm but he's in trouble here. Valens gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Dippe is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Valens lets go of the hold and Dippe can pop his arm back in it's socket.

A relieved looking Jan Paul Valens thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.

ReConnor jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dippe walks away with a smile on his face. ReConnor gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. #CL#
ReConnor tries to keep at a distance but Dippe has taken the fight into the clinch.
ReConnor fails to pull the fight into his guard.
A short body shot lands from Dippe as the two fighters clinch.
I was talking to Dippe's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
ReConnor is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Dippe to keep the fight standing.
