Cartagena bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rua's head backwards.
Cartagena swinging wildly here.
It seemed like Rua was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Rua lands a leg kick that knocks Cartagena off balance momentarily.
Nice body punch from Rua.
Cartagena moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Rua throws a lazy right hand but Cartagena sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cartagena scores with a big combo that sends Rua crashing to the mat! He's still conscious but the referee has seen enough as Rua flops around uncontrollably and he's called an end to the fight! Cartagena jumps onto the ropes and throws his mouthpiece into the crowd. Gross.

Cartagena closes the distance and lands a lead uppercut that stumbles Nurmagomedov back against the ropes! Cartagena follows up with a jab and a huge straight right that knocks Nurmagomedov out cold! What a finish! Cartagena looks absolutely delighted, as he should do! Congratulations that man!

Don Cartagena decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.

Giovinazzi changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cartagena tries to avoid it but Giovinazzi manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cartagena to the ground. Cartagena escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
As Giovinazzi looks to move away, Cartagena throws a big counter combo but Giovinazzi just gets out of the way.
Giovinazzi tries for a takedown but Cartagena sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Giovinazzi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Don Cartagena has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marchiano Giovinazzi.

BOOM! Cartagena lands a beautiful left hook that drops Giovinazzi. Giovinazzi tries to recover but Cartagena is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Giovinazzi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Cartagena stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Cartagena wants it to stay on the feet.

Cartagena connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Melcher tumbling to the canvas! Cartagena pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Melcher was done - good stoppage!
