It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Kita tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Smith defends well and Kita ends up having to push Smith into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Kita could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Kita has an Americana. Smith didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kita is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kita hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

Smith tries to bum rush Khalafa with a series of wild strikes but Khalafa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Smith is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Khalafa doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Smith crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Smith's bad books for that mishap!

Griffith tries to score a power double leg takedown but Smith sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Griffith somewhat.
Smith moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.#CL2#
Griffith darts in and clinches Smith up against the cage.
The referee is keeping an eye on Griffith - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters. #TD2#

Griffith is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Smith has his hands clasped together but Griffith extends and breaks Smith's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Griffith.
