Severn shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hayden pinned against the cage. Hayden gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hayden will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A right-left combo lands from Hayden.
A punch lands to the side of Severn 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hayden closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Daniel Hayden seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.#KD#
Hayden drops Severn with a beautiful combination! Severn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Hayden is looking for the KO!#ROC#
Severn is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Hayden fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Severn looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Hayden takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Severn shoots in and drives through. Hayden sprawls well.
Hayden is throwing punches like he's double parked. Oh my word! Huge right hand from Hayden shuts the power down on Severn. Lights out, game over! Hayden is your winner.

Daniel Hayden was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

Severn sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Van Der Weegh has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Severn to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Van Der Weegh is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Severn pulls down on the head and he's put Van Der Weegh to sleep! This one is all over!
