Cross is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Cross goes for a takedown attempt but Conell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Gregor Conell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Cross.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Smith manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Conell lands an elbow that stopped Smith in his tracks for a moment.
Smith could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Conell gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. #CUT2#
It looks like Michael Smith has been cut.
Smith can't break the clinch.
Conell throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Conell lands an elbow just above Smith 's eye.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Conell looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smith with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. #T1#

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Conell can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Conell looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Smith can't hide his disappointment, as Conell celebrates the victory.

Conell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bender circles away quickly and effectively.
Conell misses with a wild combination.
Conell throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bender fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sloppy strikes from Conell. Those never looked like landing.
Conell listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Conell throws a body shot but no joy.

It looks like Duster Bender has been cut.
Conell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Bender really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bender fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Conell avoids it really well and circles away.

Bender thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Conell if he has to take too many more of those.
Conell tries to bum rush Bender with a series of wild strikes but Bender uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Conell and the ref steps in to end the fight! Conell can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
