That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominick Thompson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mullen felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Thompson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Thompson remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Thompson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pilsner looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Pilsner dodges the ground and pound from Thompson.
Thompson throws a strike aimed at the side of Pilsner's head but Pilsner avoids it well.
Pilsner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.#SUB#
