Jaa's coach down at Gizmo's Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Jaa's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Bates throws a combination that misses
and Jaa counters with a left to the body.

Jaa dips to his left and cracks Bates with an uppercut!

Ribeiro tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jaa swats him away and circles back towards the center. #CL#
Ribeiro closes the distance and clinches.
Ribeiro jumps guard but Jaa stands there with Ribeiro around his waist. Ribeiro gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ribeiro is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Jaa to keep the fight standing.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jaa creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Jaa gets through Ribeiro's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.

Jaa rolls with it to try and escape but Ribeiro cranks on the arm and Jaa is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

After the fight, Edson Ribeiro was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Donk. Jaa catches Vasquez right on the button with a cross.
We've been hearing reports that Vasquez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Vasquez punishes Jaa's body with a nice straight punch.
Vasquez takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
