Coco shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ignacio manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Coco is pushing down on Ignacio's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ignacio is fighting to maintain full guard but Coco has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ignacio wants to get back to his feet.#SUB2#
Coco is looking for a kimura but Ignacio is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Coco to get the leverage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.#SUB2#
Coco is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ignacio is trying to escape back to his feet but Coco uses the scramble to pass into side control. #SUB2#

Coco looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Earl is fending him off so far but Coco persists. Nope, Earl circles away and we're back to standing.

Coco is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Earl is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Coco is just riding it out for now. Earl eventually gives up the hold.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Coco wants to control but Earl is keeping busy.

Earl is in close to Coco's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Coco wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Earl is now in half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Coco feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close second round but I would say that John Earl will probably get the nod.
