The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malikov fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

and Hyde counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hyde.
Hyde has Malikov pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Malikov manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Hyde has picked Malikov up - he's going for a ride! Hyde dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Hyde content to control rather than advance.
Hyde is trying to control the action in half guard but Malikov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Hyde is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

My spies in Touch Of Death Combat Academy inform me that Hyde has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Hyde working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Malikov looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Hyde! Submission of the night perhaps?

Hyde closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Mokete's guard.
Mokete is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hyde must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Hyde is looking to work some ground and pound but Mokete has wrist control.
Hyde's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Hyde trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Mokete keeping moving, preventing Hyde from controlling successfully.
Hyde seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mokete has his feet on Hyde's thighs here. He's pushed Hyde off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hyde screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Hyde has his foot on Brady's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brady works his way back into a safe position though.

Brady is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Hyde is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Hyde has escaped and now he's on top!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brady looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Hyde is defending well. Brady quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Hyde has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Brady celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Hyde drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hyde jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hyde not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Hyde has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Hyde stands and throws Doom's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hyde has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Doom is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Hyde yanks on the arm and Doom is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Hyde.
