No joy there for Boom, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

A very excited looking Samuel Boom made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Pio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Goon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Goon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pio. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Goon weaves into range and cracks Pio right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Pio goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Goon is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.

Goon is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Pio's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Pio was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
