Jules Avalon grew up in Toronto. A natural athlete, he was a multi sport star in his first year of highschool. His true passion, however, was pro wrestling. At age 16, he moved to Japan, where he became a cult hero on the pro wrestling circuit. After one of his matches, he was introduced to a Japanese UFC fighter who was impressed by his athleticism. Avalon was invited to train at his camp. Within a few weeks he retired from pro wrestling and focused all of his energy on becoming a star in MMA.
