The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Malcolm has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Malcolm on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Malcolm takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Ramirez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Malcolm swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ramirez takes a swing at Malcolm's ribcage but misses.
Ramirez connects with the punch.
Ramirez moves out of range of the strikes.
Ramirez thuds a left hand into Malcolm's body.

Malcolm is looking to counter punch.
Ramirez throws a jab when Malcolm was well out of range.
Malcolm attempts a counter takedown but Ramirez avoids it well and moves away.

Ramirez drops Malcolm with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Malcolm looks back up at him and smiles so Ramirez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Oh Malcolm is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Malcolm throws out a loose jab but Ramirez uses good head movement to avoid it.
Ramirez cracks Malcolm on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Malcolm falls backwards against the cage. Ramirez follows up with more strikes that drop Malcolm to his knees. Ramirez keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Malcolm! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iker Ramirez!
Iker Ramirez spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.

Shamkhalaev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Alter Bridge - Ties That Bind kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Salman Shamkhalaev told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Shapirov stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Shapirov wants it to stay on the feet.

These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Lennartsson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Strong stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Strong doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Strong displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Lennartsson throws out the jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Mark Strong.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Strong, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
