That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cark Sookael. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sookael takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Sookael dives in and grabs Michaels's left leg, looking for a takedown. Michaels pushes down on Sookael's head and hops out.

Michaels cracks Sookael with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Sookael tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Michaels pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Sookael is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Evan Cole.

Petrov wants to pass the guard but Nigouera is keeping the position.

Nigouera is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Petrov defends well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Petrov is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We've been hearing that Petrov has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Petrov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nigouera on the ground.

Cole swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

No joy there for Cole, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Shoemaker was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Cole cracks Shoemaker with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jido Shoemaker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Sookael is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
