Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shaw shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Harrell manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Shaw trying to control but Harrell is working from the bottom.

Harrell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shaw looking to pass the guard.
Harrell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Harrell looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Shaw lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Harrell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Harrell has momentary wrist control but Shaw slips an elbow through the middle.

Oh Harrell is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Harrell is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shaw pulls his head out easily.

Harrell wants to improve his position but Shaw is controlling well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shaw seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harrell does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Shaw is trying to control the action in half guard but Harrell is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Harrell postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Shaw trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Shaw is working an open guard so Harrell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Harrell wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Shaw uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Harrell.
Harrell pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Shaw shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Harrell's guard.

Harrell uses the cage to get back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Harrell scores with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Deair Shaw will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Harrell throws a body punch but Shaw moves out of range.

Shaw closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Harrell to the mat! Harrell manages to get full guard.

Harrell has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Shaw has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Harrell has had enough of the clinch but Shaw keeps him there for the moment.
Shaw lands an elbow that stopped Harrell in his tracks for a moment.
Harrell wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Shaw as the two fighters clinch.
Harrell looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Harrell is looking to break free of the clinch but Shaw has double underhooks.
Harrell wants to get back to striking at distance but Shaw won't allow it.
Harrell has had enough of the clinch but Shaw keeps him there for the moment.
A frustrated look appears on Harrell's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Shaw has hold of one of Harrell's legs. Harrell is fighting the takedown attempt but Shaw gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Harrell pushes Shaw off and gets back to his feet.
Shaw is breathing heavily.

Harrell misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Deair Shaw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shaw throws a half hearted mid kick.
It looked like Harrell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Harrell takes a swing at Shaw's ribcage but misses.
And Shaw tries to counter it with a takedown but Harrell pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Harrell tries a head kick but it misses.
Shaw with the counter takedown but Harrell avoids it easily.
Harrell tests Shaw's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Harrell swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Shaw closes the distance and clinches.
Harrell tries to break the clinch but Shaw is controlling the position.

Shaw ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Shaw no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Harrell postures up and lands a big shot to Shaw's brow.
Harrell is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Shaw is working an open guard so Harrell takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Shaw tries to clinch but Harrell moves out of range.
Harrell misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shaw.
Shaw let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Harrell throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Shaw's head.
Harrell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Shaw fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Harrell sprawls well initially but Shaw persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Harrell pushes Shaw off and gets back to his feet.
Shaw blocks a head kick by Harrell.
Shaw takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Harrell takes a swing at Shaw's ribcage but misses.
Shaw steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Harrell.
Shaw closes the distance looking to clinch
and Harrell counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shaw thinking.

Shaw closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Harrell did well to prevent Shaw getting side control.

Harrell pushes Shaw off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Harrell is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shaw can do to turn this around?
Harrell pulls out of a head kick attempt.

A head kick misses from Harrell.
Shaw wants to clinch up but Harrell keeps it at a distance.
Shaw throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Harrell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Harrell is thwarting Shaw's attempts to control the position.
Harrell working over Shaw with some ground and pound. Shaw looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Harrell is working for a kimura but Shaw is defending it quite comfortably.
Shaw wants to control but Harrell is keeping busy.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Shaw tries to land a knee to the head but Harrell blocks with his arms.

Harrell is fighting off a takedown attempt but Shaw is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Harrell to the mat. Harrell regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Shaw takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Harrell is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shaw is aware though and is defending well.
Erin Harrell overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Harrell looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Shaw has picked Harrell up and slammed him! Harrell can't keep hold of the triangle and Shaw manages to pass to side control!

Shaw decides to stand up, so the ref orders Harrell to his feet.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Shaw was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Harrell throws Shaw to one side and escapes!
Shaw doesn't manage to clinch there - Harrell circles away.
Harrell throws a sloppy head kick and Shaw moves out of range easily.
Harrell sets himself, and Shaw steps forward looking for the clinch! Harrell avoids it this time.
Shaw slips a jab and a cross from Harrell.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shaw throws a series of punches but Harrell moves out of range.
Harrell lands with a kick to the temple. Shaw shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Harrell connects with a body shot that sends Shaw's belly button to the back.
Harrell throws a head kick but Shaw moves out of range.
Harrell throws a series of punches but Shaw moves out of range.
Despite the aggression on Shaw's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Harrell moves out of range as Shaw throws a body kick.

Harrell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shaw on the ground.

Harrell has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Shaw should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Harrell has tightened it up now! Shaw should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
