The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Wright darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Wright cracks MacDiarmid with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
MacDiarmid throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wright.
MacDiarmid needs to keep his hands up - Wright had a free shot at his head there.

Wright avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wright lands with a good body shot.
Wright lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
MacDiarmid really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

A punch lands to the side of MacDiarmid 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wright lands a really nice looking cross but MacDiarmid seems unphased.
MacDiarmid rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wright moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wright is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! MacDiarmid had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Wright feints a jab and as MacDiarmid dips his head, Wright unleashes a brutal head kick that catches MacDiarmid right on the jaw! Timbeeer! MacDiarmid falls backwards in slow motion, only propped up by the cage! Wright smiles a psychotic smile as he stares down his unconscious opponent. That is a scary man.
