Buysse shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Buysse was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
VseShokoladov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Buysse works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Buysse has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.#SUB2#
Buysse is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. VseShokoladov is trying to escape and Buysse transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and VseShokoladov is forced to tap! Nice work there by Buysse! Very nice indeed!

Grigorian lands a really nice looking cross but Zass seems unphased.

Zass shoots for a double leg takedown but Grigorian sprawls well. He's pushed Zass's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

It looks like Alexander Zass has been cut.
The fighters circle momentarily. Grigorian darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Zass could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Zass dives in for a single leg takedown but Grigorian sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Zass gets cracked there but stands up to it.

No joy there for Grigorian, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

BOOM! Grigorian lands a beautiful left hook that drops Zass. Zass tries to recover but Grigorian is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Zass lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Cthulhu connects with a right hand that leaves Brennan sleeping against the cage! What a finish by Cthulhu!

It looks like Yog Sothoth has been cut.
A punch lands to the side of Sothoth 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sothoth fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sam avoids it really well and circles away.#TD#

Sothoth drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Sothoth seems to have locked his on tight now - Sam screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Sothoth, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Yog Sothoth!
After the fight, Yog Sothoth was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
