Montana misses with a takedown
and Winfield cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Montana misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Montana shoots for a takedown but Winfield saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Winfield throws out a counter right but Montana avoids it with no problem.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herbi Montana. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Montana tries to clinch up.
Montana tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

It looks like Winfield might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Winfield lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Montana quite badly. Montana pulls Winfield in close trying to recover. Winfield postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Montana on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Montana doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jules Winfield!
In his post fight interview, Jules Winfield started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.

Smith walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Smith moves in looking to clinch but Brown pushes him off.
Brown looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Nice uppercut lands for Smith . That snapped Brown's head back.

It looks like Blair Brown has been cut.
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Brown swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Brown lands a lovely overhand right.#KD#
Smith sends Brown crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Smith is motioning to the referee to let Brown up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Brown throws a shot from downtown. Smith moves away and avoids it.
Smith misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up but Brown swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Smith lands a left and a right that send Brown crashing to the mat, dazed. Smith thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!#ROC#
Brown is rocked!
Brown connects with a body shot.
Brown is still on wobbly legs! Can Smith finish him?
Smith finds Brown's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Brown flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Smith lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Brown will be OK.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jr Smith !
Post fight, Jr Smith stared into the camera and said 'This is your champion? 170 division answers to me now!'.
