Higgins let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Higgins throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Soap was covering up waiting for the punch and Higgins finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Soap is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.#SUB#
Higgins is sitting in close to Soap's body. Soap has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Higgins is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Higgins is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Soap.

King seems to have recovered his senses.

Ian Reilly was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Riley has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Soap shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hill sprawls well. Hill wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Soap gets slowly back to his feet.

Soap tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ben Soap. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hill is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Soap can't fight it off and eventually Hill manages to take the fight to the floor. Soap looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
