265 lbs. - (C) Rick Piano (8-0) vs. Santu Avisu Kona (7-0)
While his streak of first round finishes may have come to an end in his most recent title defense against Ross Barkley, Rick 'Roidburg' Piano is still on top, smashing through all of his competition in dominant fashion. He faces the toughest opponent of his career next in Santu Avisu Kona, another undefeated striker. In his debut Kona made waves, stopping Gyukosho Fujimoto in the first round with a monstrous uppercut in the clinch position. On paper, Kona has a slight advantage in the striking department which is, of course, what both of these men do best. It surely will be war for the enjoyment of all Sydney fans in attendance!
265 lbs. - Stefan Harpik (5-1) vs. Canelo Lopez (3-0)
Harpik had a nice showing in his Sydney debut, dragging down Angel Childress and smashing him with some excellent ground and pound, rendering the man virtually defenseless. His next opponent, slated for his fourth appearance, is Canelo Lopez. This young upstart has all first round finishes thus far, with a combination of proficient boxing and clinch fighting. The story of this fight comes down to the grappler Harpik being able to get his guy with a takedown. His chances are not great if he cannot.
135 lbs. - Connor Joieson (3-0) vs. Brain Fog (5-2)
'Chameleon' Joieson has been on a tear since signing with Sydney Fights, controlling the tempo of a fight with excellent takedowns and a great top game. Dispatching Dax Baxter in the third round in his last fight, Joieson is on his way up the ranks, and the next man to stand in his way is Brain Fog. No stranger to the division, exceptional wrestler Fog has only lost against the champion, Daichi Kishimoto. With wonderful takedowns, and constantly threatening with deadly submissions, Brain Fog seeks to claim another chance at the title with another win tonight.
265+ lbs. - Jim Bob McDonald (4-1) vs. Voshon Daniels (4-2)
After tapping out to a kimura in less than 40 seconds to Arn Anderson in his last fight, superb boxer/wrestler 'The Barnyard Brawler' is bouncing back to get back on the path of victory. He's after a much satisfactory derailing of 'The Pain Train' Voshon Daniels. Daniels also tapped to Anderson, in his case a classy americana, but in his last bout came back and put Ivar The Boneless to bed in the first round with an overhand right that still gives my children nightmares, and they didn't even watch the fight.
205 lbs. - Joshua Syracuse (3-2) vs. Evan Dryll (2-2)
Under brand new management and returning for his fifth Sydney appearance is strong boxer 'The Sauce' Syracuse. In his last bout he unfortunately gave his back away to Dai Zexi, who choked him out immediately given the chance. Even in the win and loss columns, Syracuse looks to get his career back on the right track against Evan Dryll, a man much in the same position. Evan Dryll hit the mat hard in his last fight, when Krit Leekpai smacked him with a hard right hand early in the first round. One of these men will be looking at a fresh start with a victory tonight, while the other may be looking for a new job.
205 lbs. - Jengo Makumba (3-1) vs. Kevin Durant (1-3)
155 lbs. - Jorma Suoro (3-1) vs. Philip Moore (1-2)
265+ lbs. - Ted Dibiase (2-1) vs. Jason Imbert (2-2)
265+ lbs. - Cat Fhin (3-3) vs. Ivar The Boneless (2-3)
