A Chat With Buzz Killington

Fighter profile of Buzz Killington by

Hello SPFT fans, and welcome to MMA Today. I'm standing outside of Facebreaker Striking Academy in Hilo, hoping to catch a few words with the new Super Heavyweight Champion, Buzz Killington. Killington turned the division on its head with an upset victory, and we are fortunate to get a chance to talk to him today.

Cozad: Hey, Buzz, how's it going?

Killington: I'm feeling great, preparing for my first title defense here at SPFT

Cozad: You came in as a dark horse to take the SPFT gold from Freddy Steel. Does being the champion change anything for you?

Killington: For me nothing, I'm still training hard, but it changed the way people see me. After loosing my first 3 fights at SPFT I showed class with Freddy who was a tough competitor.

Cozad: The super heavyweight division has a fairly deep roster. Who do you think is next in line for a shot at your title?

Killington: It's

Heyyyy it's me again! Couldnt write the first mini recap yesterday because I was so damn hungover from a party of my very good friend becaming a father (it's a thing atleast here in Finland). :D

Anyways on to the fight card: In our HW division Marco Ferreira shocked the world not by winning the fight but with landing a brutal Chuck Liddell style overhand of a nuke on Thresh Whiteman's chin at 0:50 of the first round!! The multiple time Choke HW champion Whiteman dropped like a sack of potatoes and it was over before it started. Crazy stuff!! Im sure Whiteman is pissed at himself and will come bak stronger than ever. Congratulations to the new champion Marco Ferreira for a stellar effort and the belt!!

OTN bonuses are 3k: FOTN : Barbosa vs Rock KOTN : Marco F

New Players

Editorial by Roy Jones

New Players.

New players come here everyday, and i would like to thank Kim Jong-un for the helpful tips he gave me, im writing this as because i want to tell you alittle about how you see the game when you join.

When you join and have no info about the game at all, you start doing random stuff, and thats fine, it might seem alittle simple at first, but as you play more, you start to see that there is much more to the game, creating new fighters seems simple, but i would recommend you to send kim jong-un a mail, he is happy to help, atleast he was happy to mail me, ask him to give you information about the noob fund etc, its one of the greatest things for a starter, also read the forum, not once, not twice

Karl "Psycho" Roosevelt

Fighter profile of Karl Roosevelt by Bjorn O'Donnel

Karl "Psycho" Roosevelt

Hey weirdo's !!! I've been in hospital for some tests. I'm not sure what happened in there, but all I know is that I went in under the name of Max Hatred. My doctor told me that he wanted to give me a new name.

I didn't care as I had no clue what was going on in the first place. Because I sometimes say stupid things and there is a meme ' shut up Karl' , they assumed it was a good first name for me. And sometimes when I dream, I dream of Roosevelt, so that made sense, even to me. I've been in the hospital for only a few days. No, the doctor didn't say that I was cured, but Max, Karl, Me, Roosevelt and the others told me that I was fine and could just leave without asking the doctors.

I had been walking in the streets of New York when I finally saw a house with clothes in the windows. I don't know how they call that and what it is for, but it looked to me like a place where naked people put on clothers if they feel like to many people stare at their sweaty balls. The silk underwear was a bit itchy combined with my hairy ass, but I guess time will heal all wounds. After two more hours,I started feeling something strange in my stomach.

I wasn't sure what it was, but 100 yards later I found out. Body gass that has been a long time in your body wants to get out at a certain point in time. I smelled nothing, but judging by the two young punks, the old woman and the nanny who all began puking, it must have been quite something.. Once my stomach was sort of empty, I saw a big red 'M' on top of a building. When I went in , the place was fillled with fat people eating bread with meat on it.

It smelled better than the gass I had produced, so I assumed that eating it would allow me to produce fresher body gasses. Boy was I wrong! Those onions caused a shutdown of half NY city because they were afraid the sewers were broken. No more meat and bread for me from the red

Kane Beckham

Fighter profile of Paul Harrison by Cain Westwood

What's up im here with Kane Beckham (267274), he has taken the time out of his busy training schedule to stop by and answer some questions.

Cain: Kane thanks for stopping by with us, so you are from Los Angeles i guess we are just neighbors or its just a few blocks from our house. So by the way how's life in MMA and whats your goal in the future?

Kane: Well Cain to tell you the whole thing MMA is hard because you've got to train all aspects in your game as well as your Cardio because its very important in MMA and it can change the whole fight. I'm training hard to improve my Boxing/Wrestling as well so that i can be a well rounded fighter and also my May Thai/Brazillian Jui Jitsu so that i can fight well in any aspect of it. I love to fight and that's what i do for a living fighting for the rest of my life and maybe if i will retire i will try to be a coach or maybe an assistant coach first before proceeding but i will spend my life in fighting because that is what i am as a person. My goal is to achieve the greatest achievement in MMA and i will try my best to achieve it and to be the best figther that i can be, you know every fight im looking to finish my opponent as possible so that i can prepare for my future fights. I also want to be recognize as the best fighter and people can remmember me as the fighter who fights forward everytime.

Cain: Wow that's is some bread and butter determination out there, i think you've got what it takes to be the best you just need time to improve all aspects in your game and you will be fine.

Kane: Yeah uhm the last fight i had i was a new comer and we are staring each other as i enter the cage. That was a statement i made with

James Penn Interview

Fighter profile of James Penn by

This is Mac Jones with MMA Today. I'm fortunate enough to catch a few minutes with James Penn, Hello, James. Welcome to the show.

You are obviously a very experienced and respected grappler, but you made your debut in mixed martial arts matches. Which style of combat do you prefer?

Penn - My father started me off in BJJ and it was all I knew for the first half of my life. Once I started in the public gyms and seen the younger fighters who where more versed in the arts then I was it made my jealous. I felt like a one trick pony so I turned to these younger fighters and asked to join them in their training sessions. Next thing you know I'm an MMA fighter. No turning back now.

Jones-Your only loss in a pure grappling match was in the TWGC 4 finals. Any thoughts or plans on avenging that L?

Penn-Yes sir. I felt I was the better grappler and still do. Next time I will not fail myself or my fans.

Jones-As an MMA figh
