TUF Brazil – Negligence of the brazilian networks

Editorial by

-This article doesn’t contain spoilers-

March 25 of 2012 is a new historic day for the UFC. The first TUF broadcasted outside the USA boarders. The show presented us with some awesome fights and some great talents that we will probably see kicking some ass in the future. The TUF Brazil premier had the same quality of any past TUF episode but unfortunately not everything is all right.

In Brazil, differently of the United States, there is only one major television national network. This major network, known as Globo, had almost any interest about the MMA universe a year ago. But since it was growing incredibly fast in the country, they couldn’t just look to the other side and let other network get the rights.

Since Globo have the rights, it’s is obligated to broadcast it. So, ‘’what timeslot should we schedule the show so it can gather the highest number of fans?’’. That is the obvious question they should ask themselves but instead, they ask ‘’what timeslot should we schedule the show so it doesn’t bother the existing programming?’’.

The show premiered on a Sunday and it ended past 1 am. The further episodes will begin 11:30 pm and go past midnight. Who does have to wake up early to work or study, right?

Other issue that happened is that it was announced that would pass a ‘’TUF Brazil report’’ on Thursday. Ok, cool! Many fans stay awake to see what it is about. It broadcasted at 00:45 am and last 5 minutes of complete uselessness.

Mr. KO's Story - Jammy Stoney

Fighter profile of Jammy Stoney by Knockout Bob

"Mr. KO" JAMMY STONEY - EARLY FIGHTING CAREER & EARLY MMA CAREER RECAP

Boxing Career - Amateur MMA Career - First 7 Fights of his Professional MMA Career

Starting Age: 22
Height: 190 cm, 6'2"
Weight: 215 lbs (Light Heavyweight)
Hometown: Grand Rapids, MI - USA

Boxing Career:
Stoney had an amateur boxing record of 31-2. He won multiple junior titles and the novice golden gloves. 29 of his amateur wins came by knockout and so did both of his loses, earning him the well deserved nickname, "Mr. KO". He proved from a young age that he was going to be a force in the boxing world. Stoney had his first professional boxing fight at the age of 18 against Lee Stevens, beating him by knockout in the first round. He was then scouted out by a major organization and went on to go 20-3 in professional boxing before being kicked out of the organization. At Stoney's last fight he lost a frustrating decision to the organizations golden boy. He threw a cheap shot after the round that ended up knocking out his opponent and essentially banning him from their organization and many others. Being as stubborn as he

Heekson UFC TOP

Editorial by Heekson Slick

Hello guys.

This is an unofficial TOP 10 for the heaviest four weight classes in UFC.
This is my personal opinion, but in many cases I have noticed that it matches the chart/criterias that Joe Silva uses for his match-ups.
This is a work in progress started over a year ago. So here it is:

Jeff Smith After TUF (CageJunkies.com)

Editorial by Neil Rooke

To say that I was excited would be putting it lightly.

After months of supporting and doing my absolute best to let the world know about the talented Jeff Smith, the day would finally come where I would get to see him fight live on television in a bid to win his way into the UFC. Jeff won the fight. Well, not according to the judges but when you watch it again you can see clearly that he should have been the one going in to the house. It wasn’t to be however as he left the latest season of TUF Live with a lot to think about.

“Initially I was excited and nervous about going into the season” Jeff told me, “I was more or less prepared and anxious to have the fight of my career”. For those who are as naďve as me and didn’t really do too much research, the lead up to that first taping is a real eye opener to what goes on to make the series possible. I was legitimately surprised when Jeff explained it to me; “For the nine days leading up to the fight we were locked in our hotel rooms”. “We couldn’t really leave, only when the PR guys would come and get us for interviews or photo shoots or something. To get out of our rooms we had to ask the production guys. Being there for nine days makes it hard to prepare for the fight. In some of the other seasons the guys were only in there for two days.” Not making excuses though, Jeff kind of knew what he was in for. Those nine days he ate room service for all three meals and only trained twice a day, not the type of preparation you would think a fighter would have for a fight that could make or break his car

ONI - 100 Cage vs Goku

Event Preview: ONI 100 PPV - Cage vs Goku

ONI - 100 Cage vs Goku

Why hello there raging fight fans, this is David Goliath, The Zombie Writer here to bring you the action on this historic Tokyo event, ONI - 100. This is the big one folks! One hundred main events put on by ONI, and still going strong. ONI may have recently changed management, but believe that Christian is a well suited heir to this powerhouse hypemachine. In the past, he has created Bare Knuckle Combat New York and competed with the top orgs over there. More recently, our creator and honorary boardmember, Kojiro Sasaki determined that Christian was a rightful candidate to take over major oporations here at ONI. With Christian's time and skills, and a community of boardmembers with great org. wisdom and knowledge, ONI will be carried on into the future, and remain THE premier org of Tokyo. ONI - 100 is a great example of the work and dedication Christian has to offer Tokyo's elite, an event that will break multiple record both for Tokyo and for ONI. Now down to the action...

It is well know that ONI, in the past has been known to take a do it yourself approach to events and to success. Choosing mostly to make all fights within the org, and refrain from superfights, ONI built itself into a top 15 global organization. Holding in reserve the superfight option has allowed this card to happen, and, oh boy do we hav

Reach 82 - Guns vs. Chihuahua

Event Preview: Reach 82 - Guns/Chihuahua
Generic MMA
2012-04-07, Hilo, Big Kahunarena
Author:Jax Rostenkowski

Ladies and Gentleman, I am pleased to present the Reach 82 - Guns vs. Chihuahua preview. Set to take place in the Big Kahunarena on the 7th of April, this is a card not to be missed. I am Scarlett Slutje, and without further a-do, let's get to the card.

Main Event - Rudi Guns vs. El Chihuahua - 135 lbs title.

What a main event we have! Rudi Guns is one of best submission artists within MMA Tycoon. With a stunning 16 career submission victories to his name, not many can handle this brown belt veteran. Having won the title in his last fight vs. Kinjo Sasake - is this the beginning of a dominant reign? Having never lost by submission nor TKO, Rudi will be looking to maximise his defensive skills and then utilize his offensive wrestling and BJJ. Looking to put a short end to the title reign is El Chihuahua. Currently on a two fight win streak this sensational boxer will be looking to continue his recent run of good form and take home the title. Having been a long term title holder at EFC, El Chihuahua is no stranger to title gold. Wth 12 TKO wins to his name, El Chihuahua has some crazy hands. Despite the two fight win streak, and a title gold within his grasp, many have rumoured El Chihuahua no longer has the heart for MMA. With his moral running low for the fight, many have Rudi down to submit the former EFC champ with a devasting Kimura. Sadly, I have to agree.

Prediction: Round 3 - Kimura - Rudi Guns.

Co Main Event - Johnie Ballantine vs. Kaleki Oliweli.

Ladies and Gentleman - expect nothing less than a stand up war! With a mind boggling 36 TKO victories between these two fighters, the fans will once again be expecting yet another TKO ending. With 21 of them TKO victories - Johnie Ballantine is one of the best 205 lbs stand up fighters in Reach Promotions. But with a less than convincing chin, and low confidence, he isn't the best of fighters up against the cage. But with dynamite in

A sit down with Brakeo Sanchez

Fighter profile of Brakeo Sanchez by

Today, I got to sit down with the “Whisper” Brakeo Sanchez and talk with him about his life, goals and achievements. When I heard that I would be conducting this interview I was very excited and I thought that I should share it with the MMA world. This guy is an animal when it comes to Muay Thai and right now seems unstoppable.
When I walked into the coffee shop in downtown Rio De Janeiro I noticed him right away sitting in the corner enjoying a good novel.
I sat down and said “Hey what’s up man” and he replied “Nothing much, Mr. Hawk! Just taking a load off before I have my second session of training today.”
I then conducted my interview that I will be sharing with you all.

Hawk “How do you feel about how far you have come in such a short amount of time?”
Sanchez “Well to be honest with you, I go out every day to challenge myself and to become a better fight. My dad always told me that even though that you feel that you are the best, there is always som
