Thompson Calling MacManus Out

Fighter profile of Ed Thompson by Kawika Kelly

Recently, I had an Interview with Dawg Pound Elite Fighting Middleweight Ed Thompson, and let's just say he had a lot to say about a certain someone.

Q: You just had your first MMA fight, which was a win via Ground N' Pound. How did if feel to go into the cage for the first time?

A: It was an amazing feeling. Going into the cage, I had the mindset where I knew I was not going to look the same when I came out, but as long as I won, it's worth it. My way of fighting is to go in the cage, give it all I got, do whatever I gotta do for the win. For me, I have to win. I don't expect myself to be anything but the best. In MMA, there's a winner and a loser, and I hate being a loser. So I'm just gonna do what I gotta do, and if the fans love my style of fighting, so be it.

Q: Speaking of Fans, Since your MMA debut, there has been a buzz around the Hilo MMA community about you, and you have have become a rising fan favorite.  Because of that rapid fan based, Dawg Pound Elite Fighting has given you the oppurtunity to fight for their company. What do you have to say to your fans, and How do you feel about fighting for DPEF?

A: Well, to all of my fans, thank you all for the support so far. I know that the love that is i

The Versus debutant Joe Bell with have his hands full with the oldest and most experienced fighter on the roster Brewster Burns. Burns, now 33, has seen it all and whaever Joe Bell has in store Burns will know how to counter BUT knowing and having the ability to do anything are two different things. However, now under the tootiledge of the "Pioneer of MMA" Tom Breedon I am sure that whatever Burn's peak condition consists of nowadays Tom will have him in that very state come that "ring a ding ding" of the fight bell. Another bell, that's Joe Bell, will be looking to make a huge splash in his Versus debut. I am sure Joe will look to use his speed advantage and fancy footwork to test the veterans endurance and chin. An extremely interesting opening fight for the puri

Charles Booth

Fighter profile of Charles Booth by

Hello everyone I have Charles Booth (146459) here with me today, he has taken the time out of his busy training schedule to stop by and answer some questions.

Wilson:  Charles nice of you to stop by, you grew up in London tell me about your life growing up here.

Charles:  well Wilson to be honest I grew up in a normal neighborhood, had a pretty normal family, I had a passion for fighting though,  so I started fighting in school, getting into a lot of trouble, then I got introduced into mixed martial arts and it changed my life I channeled all that fighting into MMA, I stopped getting into trouble, became more focused and excelled in school.

Wilson:  that’s a great story,  im  glad you found MMA and were able to turn things around for yourself.  How did you get into MMA?

Charles:  believe it or not I was handed a leaflet in the street and thought "why not?"

Wilson: oh yeah I can see that I mean you already loved fighting that’s funny though its like here take this…..uhm ok….oh heh well I like to fight…eeeh “why not” ill give this a try.

Charles you have taken a lot of slack from the fans, words such as “cocky” have been thrown around in the same sentence as your name Is there anything you want to say in regards to that and the fans?<

Eminence 2: Preview

Event Preview: Eminence 2
Meat\\\'s Slaughter House II
2012-06-30, London, The H2O Arena
Author:

Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Eminence! With you is the one and only Jorge McGillicuddy coming to you live from the H20 Arena in beautiful London England. We have some exciting fights for you tonight. So let’s dive into the action!

Peterson vs. Jones 170lbs – 3 Rounds

For our first main event card, we have Adrian Peterson going up against Former Champ, Gwyn Jones. Peterson slightly outguns Jones with sharper boxing, and all around better grappling skills. I expect Peterson to try and stand and bang in this fight. With all his TKO Victories via Cuts, you would think he had razor blades hidden in his gloves. Don’t count Jones out though; the man is a champion, with a champion’s experience. Expect him to take the fight right to Peterson.

Kruty vs. Hunt 205lbs – 3 Rounds

Kruty vs. Hunt is going to be an interesting fight, as both men like to throw bombs. Kruty as we all know, is a world class kickboxer and more flexible than a Russian Gymnast on Valium. He’s going to be coming into the fight a little lighter than Hunt, we’ll see how it effects this fight. Hunt is currently enjoying a 2 fight win streak that he’d like to see carry over into his Eminence debut. He has the skills to have the match wherever he wants it. He’s not an elite grappler, but is very competent. His best bet might be to try and take Kruty down, and pound him out.

Edward vs. Oxenfrei 265+ - 3 Rounds

For our Co-Main Event, we have two men in the title hunt at 265+. Oxenfrei is the definition of an exciting, explosive fighter. Win or lose, he’s throwing it all out there in the first round. With only 4 of his 27 fights ever going to the second round. He has a staggering 40 pounds on his opponent and will be looking to use that size, to his advantage. Across from his is Ryan Edward. Edward is looking to get back into the title picture after an exciting fight, and loss, to the current 26

Should MMA Tycoon Shorten Its In-Game Year?

Editorial by Cardiff Wanderer

The greatest dilemma facing any game is balancing the need to bring in new members with the desire to keep the current users happy.

In MMA Tycoon terms, the biggest battle is appeasing long term users who have built their fighters over many years with the need to limit their power so new players are not put off by the seemingly insurmountable competition that greets them when they enter the game.

Many solutions have been proposed, discussed and implemented to solve this issue. The most famous of these is the ticker program which degrades a fighters attributes if they are not trained for a period of time.

Unfortunately, none of these plans have satisfactorily fulfilled all the criteria for balancing the game in one broard sweep.

One potential way to introduce fluidity into the game which would allow new managers a path to the top, while giving veterans their deserved advantage and going back to the core focus of the game would be to speed MMA Tycoon's internal clock.

Currently Tycoon works of a 3 month year which means a fighter will be with a manager (if they start at 18 and retire at 38) for 5 real world years. In that time a fighters prime is approximately 18 months (of real time) which is one of the main sources of stagnancy within the top levels of competition.

If the game speed was doubled, then these fighters would only have a limited time in their prime which might encourage people to take more fights to exploit that window. Marquee match-ups would be a more regular occurrence and storied moments would add to the games lore.

Both new and old members could find advantages with the system. New players could see the lifecycle of fighters, giving them hope that they could have a top fighter without having to dedicate years to the game. While the veteran players would still have t

26-8, 25-10 these are the records of Chad Hart and Zeki Ata, with 28 knockouts between them, a knockout appears likely... however, Chad Hart never being knocked out before puts a damper on that, how will this one go down?

In the opening round Ata got caught with a good shot above the eye, cutting him, he quickly got a takedown which only lasted a short period of time before the referee stood the fight back up.Ata got the clinch and targeted the body wearing down Hart, Hart failed to secure a takedown from his own and lost the round comprehensively.

The second round was a lot like the first, except Hart showed a lot more fight. He got the opening takedown of the round and showed a lot more confidence on the feet, cutting Ata once again.Ata late in the second round fought back strongly with a great takedown and a lot of ground and pound, dishing out the most offence of the round and taking the round.

Ata with two rounds too his name, looks to hold it out as Chad hart needs a finish. Ata gets caught with a right hand! Hart on top in half guard, Ata is bleeding all over the place- HUGE ELBOW! Ata is bleeding and in pain, two more big shots! Harts postured up and is finishing this one quickly... this ones done!

winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chad Hart!

SFC84:Micheal Stubb v.s Jake Shields

Fighter profile of Jake Shields by

John Lipton Cloverleaf:  In the 2nd match of S.F.C 84 it will be ( Danger )Micheal Stubb who has 2 fight of the night awards,4 submission of the night awards, who is a BJJ specialist and has a professinal record of 16-21 14 wins comming from submission and 2 from decision and a former main eventer will have to go one on one in side the steel octogon the undefeated Jake Shields who holds a professinal record of 3 wins and no losses with 1 win by submission 1 win by decision and 1 win by (T)KO and is a boxing specialist who Stubb does not wanna stand up with and has great striking defence but can get tooken down with ease.

Micheal Horseshoe: This is going to be a fight that you would wanna see John,Jake is 2 belts under Stubb is BJJ but is a very good stand up boxer and when gets taken down can do alot of damage with his ground and pound and can do some devastating damage with those high kicks of his and his strength is just remarkable! He has the power to K.O even the toughest fighters with even the most hardest jaws who also has good striking defence and grappling defence so Stubb will have a hard time trying to K.O shields in the stand up and will have a hard time tying to clinch with him to take him down and Jake Shields has mediocre speed which might effect his pace in the match up.

John Lipton Cloverleaf: Well micheal you gotta remember that match Jake Shields had against "The Gracefull" Benjamin Akebono who has compete boxing and some stong boxing with a blue belt in BJJ and Jake Shields managed to beat him for all three rounds and gave him his first lost in his carrer. And like you said Micheal Jake Shield has some proficent Boxing skills but he has to face a man who has 14 submission wins and only 3 matches going to decision and won 2 of them but he has been K.Oed 17 times and he has had 2 title fight  and has the better exp. in this fight and is the elder and he's taller and is 3 pounds heavier than Shields and he has a brown b
