Tosen says Takahashi 'never mentally recovered from losses'.

Fighter profile of Mama Tosen by Chris Karter

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – Mama Tosen thinks lightweight is a rude awakening for Ryoto Takahashi.

Mama Tosen (20-11 MMA, 6-0 under Alfred) faces Takahashi (15-6 MMA, 6-2 SMASH) in Sunday’s SMASH main event at the Sydney Superdome in Sydney. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on OUTBACK-SPORTS1 and early prelims on ESPN+.   Takahashi went unbeaten in his first eight professional fights at Bantamweight. But with the weight cut down to 135 being a hefty one for the popular Jap, Takahashi decided to move up to featherweight, but he’s yet to find the same success in his new weight class. After fizzling out of the Sucker Punch organization he signed to SMASH and fell short in his first pursuit of gold as he went on to lose his first ever featherweight title fight to Taylor Jack by decision.   “I think he’s in his own head,” Tosen told reporters at a pre-fight news conference. “When he started out, he was extremely motivated, he was a force at 135, h

Fights from all weight divisions I would love to see.

Editorial by Sixty Nine

First from the super heavyweight division, I would love to watch Karin Johnson and Butch Frewin go at it. Prediction: Karin Johnson win. Next, at the heavyweight division, you all know what I’m about to say. Kilo vs leifsson 5. They’re 2-2 against each other and I really want to see the rubber match. Prediction, kilo wins. At light heavyweight Mohammed Kahn is the champ. But he’s never gone head to head with torhte Finlayson. But I think Kahn has the edge. Prediction, Kahn wins. At middleweight, joe exotic at no. 2 in the world, should face chip nickel, a worthy adversary but perhaps not worthy enough. Prediction, joe exotic easy win. At the welterweight division, summa sector vs ratte road is obvious. The two Finnish fighters have never faced off before. Prediction, Summa sector wins. At lightweight, rod de monaural vs Jubei Akachi is my pick. Prediction, Rod de Minaur wins. At featherweight, Petchuanglek sitsongrit vs. Darren Dixon would be a worthy battle. Prediction,

Officer down! Legendary Puno Power Strikes Again

Fighter profile of Adan Puno by Chris Karter

Officer down! Legendary Puno Power Strikes Again

In the main event of the evening at DMMA 155 the London fans were in for a treat, when they witnessed a legacy fighter in tip top shape competing at the highest level. Forged at Tosen's Home of Lost Boys in Rio, Adan Puno (10-2 MMA), son of Kajun (31-9 MMA, 1-0 KT), grandson of Fidel (34-8 MMA), brother of Jeronimo (24-10 MMA), was defending his Dynasty Heavyweight championship verse Jason Hightower (12-3 MMA, 13-1 KT), the former Heavyweight champion and K1 superstar who was once in line for a title shot against Kilo Maluga.   This fight wasn't even remotely as competitive as advertised. Defending his Heavyweight title in fashion, Adan Puno dominated from start to finish (for the entire 2 minutes this fight lasted), polishing off the challenger with an uppercut from hell that left Hightower motionless on the canvas.   With the victory Adan Puno advances to 10-2 in MMA with 8 of his wins coming by way of knockout.
