Former champ breaks silence after L: "Wakeup call I needed."

Fighter profile of Bong Ji Woo by Chris Karter

Bong Ji Woo (31-9 MMA, 15-7 Combate) is ready to move past one of the toughest results of his MMA career.

Speaking this week on his YouTube show, the former Combate lightweight champion finally addressed his Combate 212 loss to Johnny Billabong, which saw Ji Woo lose to the Australian fighter via unanimous decision bout that could’ve landed him into the coveted Combate Hall of Fame.

“I went out there with the intention of putting my best foot forward and giving the best performance of my career, and ended up giving the worst performance of my career,” BJW told Tycoon Times reporters through a South Korean translator.

“That’s the hardest part about about the loss is just that I know I can do better. I beat myself, in a funny sense. It’s not performing. And a lot of the other athletes and a lot of the other fighters will tell you about it, and they’ll talk to you about it and they’ll say, when we’re

End of fighter poverty?

Editorial by Mac Little

In an attempt to end widespread poverty among MMA fighters a social welfare program has been launched to provide all fighters in the sport with 84K $ each. Proponents of the program are pointing out that all fighters need to plan ahead and set the money aside for their retirement, Bahamas is not cheap.

Critics on the other hand are saying no amount of helicopter money will help fighters avoiding the so called "clothes scam". This one has been going on for years but still fighters fall for it in droves, especially as they are getting closer to retirement. It has nothing to do with scamming them out of their clothes, rather into. The fighter is approached with an offer to invest in MMA branded clothing or sometimes nutritional supplements that are promised to be the next big thing. They spend their savings to buy a huge supply, but reselling it always turns out to be impossible.

It remains to be seen what this will do for the cauliflower-eared population of Bahamas, o

Eli Pope: From fighting to live to living to fight

Fighter profile of Eli Pope by Real Rocket

Born in the harsh outskirts of Bloemfontein, South Africa, "Saint" Eli Pope emerged as the youngest and most resilient fighter in a family of eight siblings struggling to make ends meet. In an unforgiving environment, survival depended on battling for every morsel of sustenance and every opportunity. Eli's life became a perpetual series of clashes, where every meal, every birthday, and every single day was marked by the relentless struggle to survive.

The crucible of hardship molded Eli into a tenacious and unyielding fighter. He learned early on that to thrive, he needed to be tougher than the circumstances he faced. The ring of adversity was his training ground, forging his body and mind into that of a human apex predator. While others may have succumbed to the harshness of their reality, Eli honed his skills and transformed his DNA, becoming a living embodiment of survival and strength.

POTUS attends MMA event

Editorial by Chris Karter

Former President Donald Trump gained some significant attention this weekend as Trump attended Combate 209: Ji Woo vs Perkele at Wombley Arena in London. The former President, who faces over 30 felony counts of business fraud after a New York grand jury indicted him earlier this spring, also had an encounter with a fighter that went viral.

South Korean fighter Bong Ji Woo (31-8-0) made light work in his title defense in the main event. One of the top lightweight fighters in the world, Bong Ji Woo defeated Ispa Perkele (22-7-0) via Unanimous Decision. He was fluid and his striking defense was on point, and some fans would say almost too good. He looked like Neo from the Matrix out there dodging strikes as if they were bullets.

Through an aggressive and accurate gameplan he found a way to pick his shots and dictate the pace of the fight. Credit to Perkele, he survived the dangerous ground game of Bong Ji Woo in the moments that the champion
