The MMA Today - Bobby Haley

Fighter profile of Bobby Haley by Jack LaBear

Hello everyone, Welcome to The MMA Today Show, and I'm Phil Conners. This week we will be spending some time with Bobby Haley; Bobby is a very popular fighter that is well know in Hilo and is now looking to make a name for himself here in Los Angeles. Let's hear it for Bobby "Smashface" Haley.

[Bobby enters the stage wearing bright orange spandex pants and a white muscle shirt]

Phil: Welcome to the show Bobby. Boy, that's quite an outfit. It's a little loud, isn't it?

Bobby: You like it? I can hook you up with my designer. [stands up and twirls]

Phil: No I think I'll pass Bobby. I only wear suits. [Phil moves his chair back a little] So Bobby, the fans in Hilo are very familiar with you, but here in LA you are pretty much unknown. So, why don't you tell us about yourself?

Bobby: What do you wanna know, skip?

Phil: It's Phil. Well for one, are you ever going to come out of the closet?

Bobby: I haven't the foggiest idea what you're talking about.

Phil: OK, moving on. So when your not fighting, what are some of the things that you like to do? What are your hobbies and interests?

Bobby: Well, skip, I loooove to shop. So, theres a good chance you'll find me at the mall. And, my biggest hobby is doing makeovers on my friends. In fact you could use a makeover, highlight those rosy cheeks. Why

Hello Fred Meyer here to give you a re-cap of UPF-Hilo's most recent event UPF-H 33: Brown Vs Reem. And tell you how wrong I was in my predictions. Haha. There is a reason I am not a bookie. Haha. Anyways, with out further delays here was how the night went.

Undercard:

Maxim Markov Vs Igor Crazy

My prediction: I see Maxim winning via submission in the first half of the first round.

We started off the night with a jiu jitsu fighter Vs a wrestler. And boy was I wrong on calling this one. I thought the awesome submission skill of Markov was too much for "The" Crazy. But crazy proved that he had other plans. He laid hands all over Markov until he finally finished him in the third via TKO.

Igor Crazy def. Maxim Markov via TKO (strikes) at 1:13 of round 3

Ichabod Crane Vs David Yon

My Prediction: I think that the undefeated Crane will underestimate the former champ and see his first loss

Interview with Connor Pye

Fighter profile of Connor Pye by

Throwdown Fights: Tell us about your last fight with Chris Matthews.

Connor Pye: Man... I have to be honest. Before the fight I thought Chris Matthews was a total bitch. I mean, look at him! Short, flabby and dopey looking. To his credit though, he won fair and square over three rounds. I'm disappointed obviously, but the way I see it, I wasn't knocked out and I wasn't subbed. Five rounds and it probably would have gone my way. Full credit to Matthews, he earned a little respect. A little...

TDF: It seems like the fight was won on the ground. Is that where you wanted to be

Inside The UPF: Jose Lopez

Fighter profile of Jose Lopez by Dale Saw

Hey everyone, it's Fred Meyer here with a brand new Inside The UPF. First I would like to apologize for today's show being delayed. Apparently, our guest today, Mr. Jose Lopez was celebrating his victory early. And, he is not an easy one to remove from the bar. Ladies and gentlemen please welcome Mr. Jose Lopez.

Freddy: Hey there Mr. Lopez. You know, I thought that I was going to have to go to the bar to get this interview.

Jose: You know that works for me! Let's head on over.

Freddy: Haha. That was supposed to be a joke. We really c

GAMMA is back again with another edition of GAMMA Gossip! This is the 19th version of the magazine and your host is once again Capelli King! Lets get into the cage with the latest reviews of last weeks major fights!

Review

Peter Cabreros v Forrest Gump

This was suppose to be Peter's warmup fight towards a potential title fight, however the old timer lost 2 in a row to get Forrest back back into the higher echelon's of the 170lbs division. It was nothing spectacular from Forrest, but his chin held out and he earned a close 29-28 decision. Forrest will probably be facing the winner of the Ferdinando Ferrari vs Rick James next or possibly Vladik Fedotov if he wins the title.

Raz Matazz v Usain Watts

We saw the end of the trilogy with Usain getting the win over Raz Matazz via a decision. Raz Matazz was hoping to win the fight to make it 50 total wins in GAMMA to equal Jack Burton, however he failed to produce the

Rocky Marciano

Editorial by Muhammad Ali

On Sept. 1, 1923 Mr. and Mrs. Pierino Marchegiano of Brockton, Massachusetts became the proud parents of an extraordinarily robust baby boy. The twelve pound child was christened Rocco Marchegiano, but the world would one day know him as the legendary boxer Rocky Marciano.

When "bambino Rocco" was 18 months of age, he contracted pneumonia. Even though the infection nearly killed him - his doctor claimed that his remarkably strong constitution enabled him to survive without impairment

Bantamweight Fight
#12 Marrok Crotale (2-1, 1-1 NGF) v #24 Third Dag (6-3, 3-3 NGF)

Well the trend continues for Third Dag, he has l, w, l, w, l, and now a win to continue the pattern.  I thought this was going to be a good fight, but was I wrong.  I thought it would be a back and forth ground battle, but it was Marrok Crotale getting the fight to the mat, he was on top, but it was Dag who did all the work.  Crotale was only able to attempt 4 ground strikes, and Dag looked to lock up submissions from the bottom.  Eventually he did and ended this one at 3:58 of the 1st by guillotine.

Featherweight Fight
#15 Stefan Burczymucha (3-2, 2-2 NGF) v #2 Diego Brandao (3-1 NGF)

This fight was a good battle.  Diego Brandao is starting to prove that he’s the real deal here.  I was way off on how this fight w

Welcome to the review of Throwdown Fights first event, held May 11 at the Micro Arena in New York City.

The night started off with a Light Heavyweight bout between Jason Wind and Bobby Singer.  Wind was coming off of a loss in his previous fight, while this was Singer's debut.  Singer felt confident in the win because of his superior wrestling, evading Winds initial takedown and scoring his own instead.  He worked some ground and pound, only to underestimate Winds BJJ.  Wind was able to throw a leg up and lock in a triangle for a submission win in the first minute of the round.

The next fight of the night was a Middleweight bout between Antonio DeLuca and Steve Dragon which went to decision after three rounds.  Dragon was unable to land strikes, and DeLuca controlled where the fight happened, scoring six takedowns to Dragon's one.  DeLuca cut Dragon in the third round, but was unable to finish it.  DeLuca took it by unanimous decision, scored 30:27.

The following match was also a Middleweight fight, between Connor Pye and Chris Matthews.  Through out the fight Pye kept swinging for the fences with headkicks, but nothing connected.  Matthews on the other hand played it safe, sticking mostly with body shots and a few combinations.  Where he really shined though was his wrestling.  Matthews scored ten ta
