Interview with the Former UPF-Hilo Champ

Fighter profile of Tony Brown by

Interview with the Former UPF-Hilo Champ

[Q] How have you been after losing the title to Reem ?

[Tony]: Well, I was a bit depressed after the loss, especially since he managed to sneak an triangle on me.
But Success is not final and failure is not fatal, it's the courage to continue that counts. And thats what I have been
doing.

[Q] You ran trough Lopez quite easily and finished him at the second round. What kind of a match was that?

[Tony]: I wasn't at my best at the beginning and the first round was a like getting on a bike right after you have fallen
down. When the second round started, I was determined to end it quickly and so I did.

[Q]: Do you have any upcoming matches ? Or are you waiting to for a titleshot ?

[Tony]: I had a few offers that I accepted, but I guess some people just don't want to face me. I have a pending
offer right now against Jeremy Vega, whom should accept it already.

"Katana": The History of Kaito

Fighter profile of Kaito Saruwatari by Rodrigo Oliveira

At 29 years of age and one fight left in his contract, it's still unclear if Japan's Kaito Saruwatari will be lacing on the small gloves for much longer. Authoring a 22-fight career, the Amsterdam-based karateka's accomplishments are examined in this great article by his management company.

A black belt in Kyokushin karate, Kaito turned pro at 22, quickly signing with the now defunct promotion Gambate Fight League, where he compiled a 3-1 record, with two knockouts to his credit - one of them a spectacular axe kick KO that still can be found in internet highlight reels these days.

Rick James has just shown the world why he is so highly regarded after making quick work of top contender Vladik Fedotov. This is Vladik's second loss in a row and will have to fight his way back to the top echelons of the division. Rick on the other hand will get his shot against Peter Cabreros in his next fight, a guy which many expected to be fighting for the title before losing to Vladik.

It"s oveR

Editorial by Jolon Williams

The commercial hit the UK some time around the beginning of May, it's meaning ... ambiguous at best. The sounds of crowds cheering in the background, the sounds of commentators screaming in delight, but the subject of these awed reactions otherwise cloaked in an obscurity. The only clue viewers were given was a date. June 19th. Curiosity would set in, with a side of a hint of anticipation, yet what it was they were anticipating, even the viewers did not know. But after a month and a half of online buzz and media attention, the commercial was revamped, and the viewer's curiosity would be sated, as the final product was revealed.

The letters shifted in place, and 'oveR' was flipped to spell one word. Revo. The picture changed, revealing one brawny fist beneath the name, before the cheers of the crowd set in again, the subject of the harried commentary revealed as a tribute to numerous, infamous MMA bouts were laid out on the screen.

The opening of REVO had been officially announced.

Seconds later, Jolon Williams' phone was buzzing off non-stop. Minutes after that, an interview had been scheduled. And only hours later,
