HERO 44: Triple Threat preview

Event Preview: HERO 44: Triple Threat
HERO FC
2012-11-17, Helsinki, Malmi Sportshall

What’s up people? I’m here to bring you a preview for another super stacked HERO event – HERO 44: Triple Threat. We have a really solid card with 3 major fights, including a welterweight championship match, all of which are main-event worthy so after you’re finished admiring my writing abilities head down to the Malmi Sportshall to see some serious ass-whooping.
Preliminary card
Frank ‘B.I.” Whyte (2-6-0) v Rorion “Anaconda” Marcellado (0-0-0)
Heavyweight
This is a battle of guys making debuts – Whyte making his HERO FC debut and Rorion – his pro MMA debut. Will “B.I.” make use of his experience and show Marcellado what heavy hands mean, or will he allow to get taken down and outgrappled, remains to be seen.
Liu “The Chosen One” Kang (0-0-0) v Johny Lau (0-0-0)
Middleweight
We’re witnessing HERO future in those guys. Both of them will make their first step in professional fighting and will be eager to put on a show for our delight and grab the W.
Octavio Ramos (0-0-0) v Jacky Ler (1-1-0)
Featherweight
This card is steaming with young up-and-comers and this fight is a prime example of it. Ramos will try to use superior boxing to make his first fight a happy one, but Ler will no doubt try to spoil the party with his well-rounded game.
Robert Kawasaki (5-6-0) v Hakuma “Samurai” Hariyuoki (2-2-0)
Light heavyweight
With all of those new guys, it is good to see veterans like Kawasaki, who will try to snap a loosing streak against a very frustrated “Samurai”, who became a victim of Banka Jansson’s trouble cutting weight, and their fight never took place.
Banka “Den Tredje” Jansson (5-3-0) v “Miltei” Iivana Jalo (3-1-0)
Heavyweight
Banka is returning to heavyweight after an unsuccessful light heavyweight stint, but I’ve given up on him , cuz he doesn’t take his career seriously and I truly believe he is in for a beating against HERO FC newcomer – Iivana Jalo.
Main card:
Liam Nate (9-7-1) v Andrzej “Litwin” Rostowsky (4-5-0)
Featherweight
Liam Nate is probably the most experienced guy in the roaster with 17 pro fights and is taking on Rostowsky, who had a very nice win streak snaped in his last outing, so he will no doubt try to get back to his winning ways, but Nate is no small fish and will turn this into a war.
Jacek “Kowal” Kowalski (4-3-0) v “Knocks You Out!” Matti Teitsi (2-2-0)
Bantamweight
Matti Teitsi will try to prove his nickname isn’t just a bold statement, but he might find out it is quite hard to knock someone out when you’re on your back, cuz Jacek has strong ground’n’pound and probably won’t stand and bang.
“The Killer” Virgil Morgan (4-0-0) v Cockle Boffle (5-1-0)
Welterweight. Title fight! Co-main event #1!
This is the first  fight of our BIG 3 and it features Virgil Morgan putting his title on the line for the first time against Cockle Boffle. Morgan is a champion in just 4 pro fights and that alone speaks for the level of talent he is on, but Cockle will be the hardest test in his career. He might be outmatched on the ground, but he has the tools to keep it standing and give the champion a run for his money. This fight will prove whether Morgan is ready for the spotlight or is still too young for it and I can’t wait to find out!
Eliod “Scooter” Bunkley Iii (6-6-0) v Jarkko “Duck” Vaakku (7-4-0)
Middleweight. Co-main event #2!
The second co-main event of the night features two very skilled fighters who are a serious part of HERO FC history – former n1 contender – Eliod Bunkley Iii and hall of famer and hall of famer and former welterweight champ Jarkko Vaakku. Both guys have been in wars during their careers and I expect no less from that fight. The winner of this fight might be considered a top dog and a future contender for the title in the welterweight division so don’t miss the collision between those 2 titans.
Georgi “Sasha Belov” Todorov (8-2-0) v ”The Executioneer” Maarten Van Der Moot (8-2-0)
Featherweight. Main event!
This is it folks! This fight is the big deal! Georgi Todorov will look to bounce back from the devastating loss to Wursty that cost him the featherweight strap against former lightweight champion, who is dropping down to his more natural weight – Maarten Van Der Moot. He had a rough time in the lightweight division recently and will try to make some noise in the featherweight division with his flawless stand-up skills, but his opponent is of a very very high calibre. Todorov has broken lots of dreams and noses with his vicious ground’n’pound and has no intention of stopping so let’s see who will get this one and earn the n1 contender's spot.
