Fight Night 31: Fontes vs Lebedev

Fontes +150 & Lebedev -203 meet for the 2nd time on November 21, with both fighters a year older and wiser since their first meeting. That night, Fontes a Muay Thai specialist couldn't repel the Lebedev wrestling game and was systematically broken down via takedown and the Ground and Pound. Fontes will face more of the same this time, so can he keep this standing and capture the 265+ World Title for 170k id+ fighters?

This one will be closer than last time, Fontes has had plenty of time to prepare so maybe its his time? Lebedev is 7-0 so he starts a favorite but Fontes is the number one contender on merit, so this one could be a war.

Melton Snr -244 vs Harmsworthy +177, features former 2-time World Middleweight champion Melton Snr facing former undefeated UFL Middleweight Champion Rupert Harmsworthy. Melton is coming off a title fight defeat to Ventura which has been a bitter pill to swallow for the Melton camp, and desperately wants the rematch. But Harmsworthy is top draw, he is 8-3 and carries dangerous BJJ skills, which new manager Wright will no doubt enjoy. Melton Snr is likely to keep this standing, take no chances with Harmsorthy on the ground and box his way to a points decision. The impetus lies with the Wright camp here, they must find a way to dictate where this fight takes place. Wright is part of the evil empire and hopefully Jolon and Bruno have been involved in preparations for such a huge fight, though with Bowman Rook having now committed to the INY one wonders?

Rook -115 vs Meyers -115, we have Rook on a 4 fight win streak with his most recent wins against Whales and Taylor raising a few eyebrows among INY fans. Rook can fight, he can mix it up, hang with strikers at range, and force takedowns, but above all with his wrestling game combined with his clinch, this is where Rook wins fights. Both Whales and Taylor could not execute their game plans because Rook took them into the clinch and kept them there.

Meyers is the only man to have defeated Rook a submission win nearly 2 years ago. Since then Meyers has won and lost the Middleweight title, and he last dropped his last two, albeit to top quality opposition.

We know Rook loves the clinch, but will he risk keeping the fight in the clinch for fear of takedowns. Meyers just shoots for takedowns regardless. This one is intruiging and the Casino can't separate them.

Sheet -334 vs Abdullah+233 at 265lbs+ with the winner being on the brink of a title shot, features wrestling protagonist Sheet facing the controversial arab and the Middle Easts first gay icon, Zayeed Abdullah. Sheet is coming off a title fight loss, where his susceptibility to cuts was evident, and in Abdullah he faces an equally dangerous foe. Abdullah loves the clinch and has stopped his last 2 opponents on cuts, but clnching with a wrestler of the calibre of Sheet will be dangerous.

If Abdullah can keep this standing, or at least force a referee stand up often enough to inflict some damage on the fragile features of Sheet, then he can win this. However, the Casino has Sheet a strong favorite to get the takedown and finish affairs in a quick and efficient manner.

This card is stacked for a fight night do not miss it.
