Event Preview: HERO 46: Torrez vs Olson II
HERO FC
2012-12-12, Helsinki, Kamppi Arena
Author:Bel Ciganin

Good day, It is my pleasure to bring you the preview for HERO FC’s second PPV HERO 46: Torrez vs Olson II. This event marks the progress the organization is making and is a clear sign that the efforts the management puts are paying dividends. This PPV will continue a well established pattern by HERO – it will bring you the best action possible. We have a real packed card with TWO title fights on the line. First off, in the Co-main event. The welterweight champion Virgil Morgan will put his title on the line against Hall of Famer Jaarko Vaaku and then, in the main event another Hall of Famer Eddie Torrez will face Christian Olson for the second time in his career and will try to defend his middleweight championship.

Preliminary fights:

Octavio Ramos (0-1-0) v Kris "Smash" Johnson (0-1-0)
Lightweight
Those two promising young fighters started their careers with a loss. Let’s see who will taste victory for the first time and who will go 0-2.

Konstantin Zyuzin (0-1-0) v Mikko Kekkonen (4-2-0)
Light heavyweight
Konstantin is going to be one of the more active fighters as it seems as he fought and lost just recently but he is eager to recieve another payday and his next opponent is deffinately not a step down in competition as Mikko has all the tools needed to make some serious noise in the division.

Damien Byrkjelo (3-2-0) v Rorion "Anaconda" Marcellado (1-0-0)
Heavyweight
Those two haven’t been the distance yet in their young careers so expect a finish in this one. Rorion looks like a bad match up for Damien, but don’t count Byrkjelo out just yet cuz he is a tough guy to beat.

Dan "No" Love (5-8-0) v "The Prodigy " Thiraphon Jr Phuttharaksa (6-7-0)
Bantamweight
Dan Love has had a tough time recently and people say he might have lost willingness to fight which could be costly against a grappler like Phuttharaksa. Still, Love has good stand up and is no slouch on the ground either so this fight has the potential to be a show.

“The American Dragon" Daniel Bryan (4-1-0) v Trouble Some (4-1-0)
Light heavyweight
Daniel Bryan is an exciting new adition to the HERO ranks and I can’t wait to see what he’s capable of. He has a serious task at hand because his welcoming fight will be against a guy who stirs a lot of trouble for his opponents – Trouble Some.

Main Card:

Jango Fett (6-1-0) v "The Shredder" Phillip Schreiber (5-5-0)
Lightweight
Schreiber is far from his best form judging from his recent performances, while Jango Fett has all the momentum in the world and is a couple of wins away from a title shot. If Schreiber beats him though, he can take his place and get back to the top of the ladder with just 1 fight so this fight is really important for both guys.

Martin Huuhkaja (6-4-0) v Jacek "The Hammer" Kowalski (5-3-0)
Bantamweight
Both guys were pretty close to a title shot before losing to Ruslan Smirnov and are now looking to build solid win streaks and get to it for real. Personaly, I give the advantage to Kowalski because of his victory in his last fight, earned by tapout due to a vicious triple decker pecker wrecker!

Clarence "Cold Cocked" Adams (6-3-0) v Alan Fei Hong (6-3-0)
Heavyweight
Clarence lost to the champion in his last fight and is now looking to find his way to victory against former champ Alan Fei Hong. Hong had huge success earlier in his career, but now it seems as if his gameplan is washed up and ineffective. I doubt Adams will be in for a good time if he gets pressed up against the cage though, cuz Alan’s elbows can smart.

"The Killer" Virgil Morgan (5-0-0) v Jarkko "Duck" Vaakku (8-4-0)
Welterweight. Title Fight. Co-main event.
In our co-main event of the evening we have “The Killer” and the “Duck” locking horns for what will be a real barnburner with a winner, who can call himself a welterweight champ. Jaarkko Vaakku knows what’s the feeling of holding the belt and will try to get it back. He is a real veteran and has a huge role for HERO FC’s development being the first hall of famer. He will have a tough time against Morgan, that is for sure. “The Killer” came by storm in HERO and showed he has tons of skill and heart, albeit not being so recognised amongst the fans. That is going to change big time if he dispatches a legend like Vaakku.

Eddie "Rhino" Torrez (10-2) v Christian "Osmosis" Olson (8-1-0)
Middleweight. Title Fight. Main event.
The main event of the second HERO FC PPV will be headlined again by a fight featuring Eddie Torrez. That speaks a lot about his qualities and means that he has what it takes to be a face of the organization. Last time out he was a challenger though and now he is the middleweight champion, looking for the first title defense of his second rein against Christian Olson. Torrez avenged a loss last time out and Olson will try to do the same in this fight, because the last time those two met, he was on the receiving end of a brutal KO in just 16 seconds. A lot has changed since though. Both guys have evolved and are in a different level compared to back then. The question is who has made better adjustments and who is more willing to give it all in order to get the strap. Will it be the grappler Olson or will it be the striker Torrez?
