                                                                NGF 29 Preview

This is a fantastic card!  Great fights all over the main card and some really good matchups on the undercard too.  Good luck everyone and remember, change your clothes to get morale up on your fighters, low morale can effect how your fighter performs.

MAIN CARD

Light Heavyweight Title Fight

Jack Poldi-CHAMP(9-3, 4-0 NGF) vs  Martyn Musgrave (17-8, 3-2)

This amazing card ends with a fantastic title fight between Jack Poldi and the most seasoned fighter in the NGF in Martyn Musgrave.  These two meet each other back at NGF 14 where Poldi became the Light Heavyweight champion with a 3rd round TKO of Musgrave.  Poldi is riding a 4 fight win streak and can dominate a fight at every position.  Musgrave will try to get this fight to the mat and use his dominating submission game (14 sub wins) to take the belt.  PREDICTION:  Poldi, 4th round TKO.

Light Heavyweight Fight

Kert Nigobson (5-3, 2-1 NGF) vs Dmitry Boitsoff(8-4, 1-2 NGF)

Kert Nigobson, ridding a 2 fight win streak will get his first step up in competition with Dmitry Boitsoff.  Dmitry is just 1-2 in the NGF, but he’s fought the likes of Jack Poldi, Martyn Musgrave and Rogerio Mustacho, wow!  Here we are again with Boitsoff getting another top 10 fighter.  This should be a great fight and a FOTN front runner!  Boitsoff has to use his BJJ black belt and get Nigobson to the mat.  Kert is just too much for Dmitry if this fight stays standing.   PREDICTION:  Boitsoff, 2nd round submission.

Light Heavyweight Fight

Andrej Kavelin (6-1, 4-1 NGF) vs Zergatron Megalopolis (6-1, 3-1 NGF)

The 3rd fight on this card is a epic battle between the #3 and #4 ranked fighter, just an amazing fight.  Andrej Kavelin has had a pretty easy path to this point.  He has faced low end competition, 3 of which have retired already.  His real only test was a loss to Brett Riverboat.  So this is a big test for Kavelin, one that will tell us a lot about Andrej.  Zergatron always seems to have low morale, but seems to always put up good fights.  Megalopolis has big time KO power and will wait for a mistake and throw 1 punch, and if that lands, good night.  A big light heavyweight fight at the top of the ranks, awesome!  PREDICTION:  Kavelin 2st round TKO.

Middleweight Fight

Artur Ross (6-1, 5-1 NGF) vs Alpha Male (9-5, 3-3 NGF)

Artur Ross will try and make it 5 wins in a row by beating Alpha Male, who is trending in the wrong direction.  Ross seems to have an advantage in every area of this fight.  “Iceman” is fantastic on his feet, he’ll drop you with a punch, but he can take you down and beat your face till you tap.  Alpha Male has faced some good fighters and has looked strong.  He’s lost his last two to Jambo Alvez and current middleweight champ Facaloto Gals.  This is another fighter ahead of him, and another chance to move up the ranks.  I think he has to try and punch with Ross and use his exception boxing to win this one.  PREDICTION:  Male decision win.

Light Heavyweight Fight

Rogerio Mustacho (5-1, 4-1 NGF) vs Ivan Grozni (7-3, 0-1 NGF)

Rogerio is coming off a TKO win at NGF 24 over Mike Thompson, which sent Thompson out of the NGF.  Mustacho is a fun fighter.  He always puts on a show and can fight with anyone.  He has a all-around great game and can beat someone up from anywhere.  He has shown great skills once it’s on the mat with 3 submission wins out of his 5.  Grozni lost his NGF debut, but he has skills to rise the ranks and one day be in title contention.  He has his work cut out for him, but his sensational boxing skills could be the factor.  PREDICTION:  Grozni 2nd round TKO.

PRELIM CARD

Bantamweight Fight

Andrew Summer (5-3, 4-2 NGF) vs Tony Frost (4-1, 4-0 NGF)

I am so excite to see this fight.  Didn’t make the main card, but that’s because this events card is stacked!  Summer will get his first real test in the NGF, he has faced low end competition so far, but really has had no problem with them.  Each top level fighter he has faced he has not fared well.  Tony Frost is a rising star and looks to steam roll Summer like he has done with each of his past 4 opponents.  Like Summer, Frost hasn’t really faced anyone great yet, here’s the difference, Frost has won in dominating fashion.  Summer has to get Frost down, that’s his only hope.  This is a good one!   PREDICTION:  Frost, 1st round TKO.

Lightweight Fight

Jigfu Cambrona (7-5, 0-3 NGF) vs Varshik Gerich (7-1 NGF)

Jigfu Cambrona has taken a turn that he has to figure out, and NOW!  Here’s a guy that won 6 of his first 8 fights, with one no contest.  Since that start, he’s won just 1 time in his next 5 fights.  He seems to have gotten sloppy, often making footwork mistakes which end his night.  He matches up well with Gerich’s boxing, so he should stand and bang in this one.  Gerich hoh hum, another fight, probably another win.  Varshik has the most wins inside the lightweight division.  Gerich hasn’t really been tested much, but if he gets his 8th win, that will change.  Gerich is a fun fighter, who usually goes the distance, but he has won 5 FOTN awards, so you can always expect a great fight! PREDICTION:  Gerich decision win.

Super Heavyweight Fight

Vladan Perunovic (5-0, 2-0 NGF) vs Buddy Threadgood (4-1, 3-1 NGF)

This is another great match up between two powerhouses in the super heavyweight division.  Perunovic has powerful hands, he’s only seen 66 seconds of fight in the NGF, both fights have been KO wins.  He doesn’t have great footwork, but he looks for that one big right hand punch to put out his opponents.  He has remarkable wrestling skills as well.  Threadgood also can put a fool out cold with a single punch.  He will try and shake off the horrifying last fight were he was left bloody and out cold.  He looks to be a bit more talented all around, and he will certainly try and keep this one standing.  PREDICTION:  Threadgood 1st round KO.

Lightweight Fight

Wade Dew (5-1, NGF DEBUT) vs Maurice Rabanbarou (3-3, 0-3 NGF)

Wade Drew will make his NGF debut vs Maurice Rabanbarou.  Drew is a former ACME BRUTAL FC champion.  He has remarkable boxing skills and he will look to keep this one standing.  He is more skilled in every way over Maurice and this should be a easy one.  Rabanbarou has looked over matched since joining the NGF.  He has been a total bore in his fights, in fact he hasn’t attempted a single strike in his 3 fights.  He spends the entire fight trying for take downs, then once on the mat, it’s submission after submission.  Let’s just hope for the fans sake, Drew ends this quickly.  PREDICTION:  Drew 2nd round TKO.

Heavyweight Fight

Timofey Mozgov (1-3, 0-2 NGF) vs Nikita Pronin (1-2, 1-1 NGF)

This card kicks off with a wimper.  It’s an amazing card, but his fight is between two guys who I’m not sure even give a damn.  Both fighters some in with low morale, but fighters need this win.  Mozgov is on a 3 fight losing streak, but he did face a top 10 fighter in Roman Kowalski last fight and he did look alright in that fight.  He’s got very good boxing skills, but the rest of his game needs work.  Nikita Pronin really has nothing that looks strong, and you have to question his desire.  If he could get his head into this profession, he might be able to turn his career around.  I don’t think it starts here.  PREDICTION:  Mozgov 1st round TKO.
