NGF 31 Season 4 Kick Off Preview

MAIN CARD

Main Event

Welterweight Title Fight

#11 Allan Starsky (8-1, NGF DEBUT) v #5 Chad Hardy (5-0 NGF)

“Wild Dog” Allan Starsky will be making his NGF debut at NGF 31.  Starsky is riding a 6 fight win streak that has seen him dominate and finish his opponents with an assortment of weapons.  He violently finished off one opponent with a spinning back fist.  He is a deadly fighter standing up and can finish off a fighter in all sorts of different ways.  Chad Hardy is 5-0 in the NGF, but at 20 years old, he doesn’t have the resume as Starsky yet.  Hardy has been working very hard on his stand up game, but I think he’ll want to take this to the ground.  I don’t think Hardy will be able to work his ground game and he suffers his first NGF loss.  PREDICTION:  Starsky 2nd round TKO.

Co-Main Event:

Heavyweight Fight

#2 Raul Zergopalitix (6-2, 2-1 NGF) v #4 Rinky Spider (4-0, 2-0 NGF)

Raul Zergopalitix will try and make it 3 in a row with a win over Rinky Spider.  Raul’s last fight, a 1st round TKO win over Ulisiaz Crunch put Crunch out of the NGF.  Zergopalitix will use his superior wrestling skills again in this one, he has yet to throw one single strike while standing, so there is no surprise how he’ll game plan this one.  Riky Spider looks like fighter…I know that’s a stupid thing to say, but this guy looks like he just got out of prison and he fights like it too.  He has unbelievable 1 punch KO power, all 4 wins have come by TKO, the first 3 have been straight KO’s.  He is pretty good wrestling and his take down defense is very good.  If he stuffs Raul’s take downs and keeps this standing, Raul doesn’t stand a chance.   PREDICTION:  Zergopalitix, 1st round KO.

Super Heavyweight Fight

#1 IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIllllllllllll lllllllllllllIIIIllIIIIl (5-0 NGF) v #4 Sergei Svetlakov (5-1, 1-0 NGF)

“Dumb Name” as I call the #1 ranked Super Heavyweight, will try to let the NGF know that he should be in the next title fight to crown the first Super Heavyweight Champion with a win in this one.  He’ll do what he does best, out wrestle and put his opponents to sleep with vicious ground and pound.  Sergei Svetlakov showed he’s a real force by knocking out Buddy Threadgood at NGF 26.  He is very light on his feet, and can strike with a power that turns fighters to rag dolls.  This one could be the fight of the night!  I can’t wait!   PREDICTION:  Svetlakov 2nd round TKO.

Heavyweight Fight

#8 David Abbott Jr (9-6, 1-2 NGF) v #13 Andrew Golota (7-3, 2-1 NGF)

David Abbott Jr. tries to rebound after a decision loss to Armand Battailen at NGF 25.  A disappointing loss, and he had some soul searching to do after it.  He’s camp has said he got refocused and has had a very good camp.  He’ll is facing a very strong Andrew Golota, who has sensational boxing skills.  Golota loves to throw uppercuts, sometimes opening him self up too much.  I think this could be a boxing war if these two are willing.  I’m pretty fired up about this one, someone is getting kocked out!  PREDICTION:  Abbott Jr. 3rd round TKO.

Super Heavyweight Fight

#6 David Miller (5-3, 2-1 NGF) v #2 Iury Sinistrov (6-3, 2-0 NGF)

David “Speedy” Miller has been pretty speedy in his 3 NGF fights, 2 of them have been stopped under 1 minute, and none have gotten out of the 1st round.  There are some questions about Millers conditioning, but who cares if he can finish fights in the 1st?  He has the ability to end this fight standing and on the mat, he is a brown belt in BJJ and is coming of a submission win over Giant John.  “WaitForPorrada” Iury Sinistrov is well rounded, but holds a edge over Miller with his exceptional boxing skills.  He started off his MMA career with 4 wins, but was forced out of the Steel Penn Fighting Temple with 3 straight losses.  Now, with a 2 fight winning streak, Sinistrov looks for a possible title fight with a win here.  He has deadly hands and feet and I think that will be too much for Miller.  PREDICTION:  Sinistrov 1nd round TKO.

 PRELIM CARD

Heavyweight Fight

#16 Ignat Kaigorodov (5-3, 2-1 NGF) v #9 Tweek Sanguine (6-2, 2-2 NGF)

Ignat Kaigorodov will try and shake off the violent KO loss by Bob Probert at NGF 25.  He’ll face Tweek Sanquine who will try to start a winning streak.  Kaigorodov has little boxing skill.  He will try to wrestle Sanquine down and use his ground and pound skills to end this.  Here’s the problem, like with the Probert fight, if he doesn’t get his man to the mat, he has no defensive skills to keep from getting hammered.  Tweek is similar to Ignat in the way of boxing skills, these two guys just spend so little time working on this, so they are not going to fair well if they don’t get their man down.  Here’s a fight that might spend the entire time on the ground, both fighters have good BJJ skills.   This one is the early favorite for SOTN.  PREDICTION:  Kaigorodov, 2st round submission.

Middleweight Fight

#7 Jambo Alvez (9-3, 3-0 NGF) v #13 Milan Savic (3-2 NGF)

Jambo Alvez is will try and make it 4 in a row with a win over Milan Savic.  Alvez didn’t look great with his majority win over Alpha Male at NGF 25, but it was his 3rd win in a row.  Alvez uses a double threat attack with his remarkable boxing and wrestling skills.  The problem is at times, he looks to just stand in stone and predictably throw strikes, not landing many.  He is very good conditioned, and even at 30 years old, he looks like a young man.  Savic, 8 years younger then Alvez, looks to use his youth in this one and possibly out point Jambo.  Milan Savic, a Brazilian jiu jitsu practioner since age 16, Savic transitioned to MMA at age 20, after joining manager Rodrigo Oliveira.  Savic will try for a submission; the only problem is that Jambo has some of the best submission defense skills in the division.  This one will be tough, possibly tough to watch too.   PREDICTION:  Alvez decision win.

Heavyweight Fight

#18 Armand Battailen (5-1, 1-0 NGF) v Third Dag (3-0, NGF DEBUT)

Armand Battailen, who once was known as John Turner, is coming off his 3 straight fight decided by the judges.  He is 2-1 in those fights, but he has looked dominating at times.  He is a Muay Thai fighter who loves to take out his opponents legs.  He’s got fantastic knees and can punish in his Muay Thai clinch.  Third Dag is making his NGF debut, the young 20 year old has shown superb boxing and exceptional wrestling skills.  In his last fight, he showed good ground skills, as he was able to put out his opponent with elbows and strikes, after controlling him first.  He’ll have to use those wrestling skills to pound on Battailen, but the fight could go either way, as both fighters have similar BJJ skills.  This looks like a good test for Battailen and a tough draw for the first fight in the NGF for Dag.    PREDICTION:  Battailen 2nd round TKO.

Heavyweight Fight

#21 Dwayne Johnson (3-0, 1-0 NGF) v #19 Kullervo Pelli (5-4, 2-2 NGF)

Dwayne “Rock” Johnson looks to improve to 2-0 in the NGF with a win over Kullervo Pelli.  Johnson’s last fight was a TKO win over the 0-5 Gunthor Xiilianiatoph.  This will be a much bigger test for 6’6” monster.  Johnson has the skills to climb the rankings, he is well rounded and can end a fight quickly.  What’s scary about him, is his boxing skills are still improving, and he’s already shown great skills there.  He is most deadly in the clinch, he has razor sharp elbows that can do major damage.  Kullervo Pelli’s 5 career wins have all been KO wins.  He has major power and can end someone’s night very quickly and bloody.  He holds the record for the quickest KO in the NGF with a 5 second KO of  Benjamin Ruggiero back at NGF 16.  I think Kullervo will try to keep this standing and use his sensational boxing to out strike Johnson.  Pelli has the advantage if he keeps Johnson at a distance and finds the few holes the “Rock” has.  This one is gonna be good!  PREDICTION:  Johnson 2nd round TKO.

Super Heavyweight Fight

#13 Vatslav Borisov (3-1, 0-0 NGF DEBUT) v #14 Giant John (4-2, 1-2 NGF)

“The King” Vatslav Borisov makes his NGF debut vs Giant John.  Borisov is giving up 3 inches and over 30 lbs in this one, but I think he has slightly better skills.  Borisov loves to use his remarkable wrestling skills to get to the mat and drop bombs from mount on his opponents.  He will be a big time problem for John if he gets the fight to the mat.  John started his career fighting 4 tomato can, and as you would expect, he had no problems, in fact all 4 of them never got into the 2nd minute of the 1st round.  Since coming into the NGF he has had to face a step up in competition, and also as expected, it has been much harder.  John has lost 2 straight and he’s trying to turn his career around.  John has GOT to keep this standing.  He has a great advantage on his feet.  The last time we saw John on his back was vs IIIIIIIIIII, where he was destroyed.  He wants to avoid that at all costs.  PREDICTION:  Borisov, 2nd round submission.
