MAIN CARD

Main Event

Middleweight Title Fight

#1 Facaloto Gals (11-3, 3-0 NGF) v #5 Purpura Mortis (6-2, 0-0 NGF)

A couple of finallys, we are finally going to see Facaloto Gals defend his belt again and we are finally going to see Purpura Mortis fight.  Gals hasn’t fought since November 24th and NGF 26 where he successfully defended his belt with a 1st round submission win over Xian Jinxi.  Gals will look for the take down and then the submission.  What he lacks in a stand up game, he makes up in his wrestling and BJJ skills.  Purpura Mortis, is simply the top prospect in the middleweight division.  He’s another product of Jima Jamm, who just keeps churning out skilled fighters.  Mortis is, well, awesome.  He doesn’t look to have a hole in his game, as he has KO wins, TKO wins and submission wins.  I think the fight could go to Gals if this fight gets to the mat, but Mortis will be looking to end this quick and take the title. PREDICTION:  Mortis 1st round TKO

Co-Main Event:

Light Heavyweight Fight

#6 Kert Nigobson (6-4, 3-1 NGF) v #8 Brett Riverboat (8-2, 3-2 NGF)

Kert Nigoboson will try to stop Brett Riverboats hot streak.  Nigobson is coming off a TKO win at FN 13 over Eleven Hammer.  Kert has sensational wrestling skills and he’s a brown belt in BJJ.  He has dominating ground and pound; he will take opponents out if he gets the fight there.  Here’s the problem, he has shown a tendency to get sloppy and he has 3 losses all from being submitted from this.  Brett Riverboat has a ton of power and Nigobson has to watch out for this.  Brett can take a fight into the clinch and he’s very good there.  He’ll work on the body and land big strikes off the break.  This one looks good!  This one could end with one big punch or you could see Riverboat a bloody mess, it’s to close to call!  PREDICTION:  Nigobson 2nd round TKO

Heavyweight Fight

#7 Oleg Alekseev (8-4, 4-2 NGF) v #14 Bob Probert (4-2 NGF)

These guys faced each other back at NGF 4.  It wasn’t much of a fight then, it will be interesting to see how much Bob Probert has grown.  In the first meeting, Oleg Alekseev did what he’s known for, shoot in, take down, pummel a face.  Probert has monster power, no doubts there, but this simply isn’t a good matchup.  Probert can punch Alekseev into dream land, but he is simply no match for Alekseev when it comes to wrestling or bjj skills.  Probert has very good defensive take down skills, and he has GOT to dig deep to keep this one standing.  Oleg Alekseev has shown, if you can fight off his relentless take down attack, you can do damage on him.  He rarely throws a stand up strike.  I can only predict another quick fight.  PREDICTION:  Alekseev 1st round TKO

Light Heavyweight Fight

#7 Clean Jaude Damn Vame (3-1 NGF) v #9 Heraldo Magnifico (10-4, 0-0 NGF)

I think this one could be a FOTY candidate, that’s if these two are willing to stand and go toe to toe.  These two guys are two of the best light heavyweights in the NGF.  They both are brown belts in BJJ and have very good wrestling skills.  They both can KO anyone, but they have that deadly ability to wrestle an opponent down and ground out a win, or submit, yeah, I guess what I’m saying is…these guys kick ass pretty much everywhere.  Vame is the winner of the KOTY award for his flying knee KO of Charles Bronson.  That gives him a flying knee KO, punch KO and head kick KO.  Magnifico makes his NGF debut, he’s a former champion and he’s looking to make his mark in the NGF.  He holds 5 FOTN awards, so this one is sure to have the crowd in awe.  Heraldo is surprising 2-4 in his last 6.  I just got a full body shiver thinking about this one, let’s go!  PREDICTION:  Vame 2nd round KO

Super Heavyweight Fight

#5 Stanley Hughes (4-0, 1-0 NGF) v #2 Vladan Perunovic (6-0, 3-0 NGF)

The winner of this one may face the winner of “Dumb Name” and David Miller winner.  Stanley Hughes, once known as Johnny Helsinki, is coming off a FOTN and SOTN performance against Mongol Magyar at FN 12.  Hughes loves to try and chop the legs out from his opponents, attempting many leg kicks, and he’s good at it.  Hughes has landed 30 leg kicks in the past two fights.  Vladan Perunovic is just on an amazing run to start his MMA career.  He holds the highest strike landed percentage in the NGF, and I can’t believe anyone in the MMA Tycoon world would have much better.  Perunovic has landed an amazing 35 of 38 of his total strikes in the NGF, that’s a 92% clip!  And he’s landed 56 of 62 total strikes overall…um, that’s not fair.  Vladan has stayed standing in all of his fights and has finished 4 of his fights under a 1:00.  The sky is blue, the ocean is wet and someone is getting KO’ed in this one.  PREDICTION:  Perunovic 1st round KO

PRELIM CARD

Heavyweight Fight

#16 Kullervo Pelli (6-4, 3-2 NGF) v #15 Armand Battailen (6-1, 2-0 NGF)

Armand Battailen will try and continue to march up the ranks with a win at NGF 34.  Kullervo Pelli might have the best 1 punch power in the organization.  He is coming off a 5 second KO of Dwayne Johnson at NGF 31.  He’s scary, he’s deadly, and he can end your night in a heartbeat.  All 6 of his wins have come by way of KO and he has a 5 second and a 10 second KO on his resume.  After compiling a 20-0 record in Muay Thai competition throughout Europe, Battailen transitioned to MMA where he’s started off 6-1.  Battailen also can knock someone out, he also holds a 5 second KO, but with a head kick.  Armand loves to throw kicks, he has deadly precision and will chop away at an opponent’s legs.  Also, you want to avoid getting into a clinch with him at all costs, at NGF 26 vs David Abbott jr., he attempted 105 strikes while in the clinch.  I actually think Battailen holds the advantage on the ground, Pelli only has a few holes and one of them is his BJJ skills.  If these two guys want to stand and band, I won’t be disappointed, but Battailen might try to get this to the mat.     PREDICTION:  Battailen 2nd round TKO

Welterweight Fight

#12 Dominick Napolitano (2-2, 2-1 NGF) v #15 Lionel Cascara (6-2, 1-2 NGF)

“Sonny Black” Napolitano will try and get his 3rd NGF win at NGF 34.  Napolitano has had back to back FOTN fights and he will try and get Lionel Cascara out of his comfort zone and keep this fight standing.  The theme for NGF 34 is the leg kick, Dominick is another fighter that will zero in on a thigh and just hammer away.  He will fall in love with the kick and he can change levels well, picking apart a leg, then doing damage with a head kick.  Lionel Cascara will not want to stand in front of Napolitano.  Cascara will slow this fight down and no doubt try and get this fight into a grappling match.  He has 4 submission wins in his career.  He is very good at timing his take downs, he’ll land a strike here and there, but he wants to get to the mat.  This is a good one, if Napolitano can defend the take down, he’ll win it, but Cascara is really good at take downs.   PREDICTION:  Cascara 2nd round submission

Light Heavyweight Fight

#12 Andrzej Golotowski (0-0) v #20 Ivan Grozni (8-4, 1-2 NGF)

I really am excited about this, we are about to see a 23 year old making his MMA debut.  That’s right; the NGF will be the birth place for Andrzej Golotowski.  Reports on Golotowski are he has sensational boxing skills, remarkable Muay Thai skills and is developing his ground game.  Ivan Grozni is coming off a 43 second KO win at FN 13 over Geoff Strangle.  Grozni also has sensational boxing skills, where he holds a distinct advantage is on the ground, an area Andrzej is said to still be developing.  Grozni is a brown belt in BJJ, so I feel he’ll look to bring the rookie down.  All 8 of Ivan’s wins are by T(KO) so he will finish a fight.  Golotowski has a tuff draw on his 1st ever fight, but he can win it if his wrestling skills are up to the same level as Grozni.  This is gonna be a grueling fight.  PREDICTION:  Grozni 3rd round TKO

Bantamweight Fight

#21 Michael Sandler (2-4, 0-3 NGF) v #19 Ron Sieler (4-5 NGF)

Michael Sandler will try and turn his career around with a win over Ron Sieler.  What happened to Michael Sandler?  What started off with a 2-1 start has seen a total 180 to lose 3 straight, having him get submitted, TKO’ed and KO’ed.  Sandler has wonderful wrestling, and he can do damage with ground and pound.  The problem is that Sandler just gets sloppy.  He drops his guard or he has lost position on the ground and ends up getting TKO’ed, he has to stay focused.  Ron Sieler, a guy who looks talented, well rounded, but cannot figure out how to beat anyone worth a damn.  He’s a hard fighter, he does have power and he can do damage in the clinch.  His last fight, a unanimous loss to Augusto Cruz showed a lot about Sieler, that fight was his best of his career and give hope that he can turn things around.    PREDICTION:  Sieler 1st round KO

Light Heavyweight Fight

#25 Jean Cerien (1-2, 0-2 NGF) v #23 Ivan Zhukov (2-3, 1-3 NGF)

Jean Cerien is so ready to get his 1st win inside the NGF.  Jean Cerien was winning his last fight vs Dragon Warfist, he was looking really good, but was caught.  If he can build on that, if he’s gone back to training and worked on his holes, he’ll get the win in this one.  I don’t think he wants to stand in there vs Ivan Zhukov, I think he’ll want this one to get to the mat, he holds the advantage there.  Ivan Zhukov has a lot of power; he is skilled at boxing and looks light on his feet.  The biggest problem with Ivan is at 27 years old, I don’t know if he thinks highly of himself.  I don’t think he takes his training all that seriously, not his MMA skills anyway.  He’s a puncher and that’s pretty much it.  If this was boxing he’d be excellent, but he’s a below average fighter in a MMA fight.   PREDICTION:  Cerien decision win
