The Note presents SOTF 25: Kingdom Come

By BrotherHec

Intro:

Dear fellow fans of SOTF. My name is BrotherHec. I thought I would volunteer a few hours of my life to give back to SOTF and the mma community. In SOTF 25: Kingdom Come we get to see an extremely great card. Tons of fighters and tons of action I promise you one thing that the main car is going to be one freaking awesome night. Well let me not waste your time anymore and let me welcome you to the first ever Note for SOTF, Kingdom Come!

Saint Roc vs Saunders

Pierre “The Hammer” Saint Roc is no doubt rising the ranks of the light heavyweight division with 2 wins coming very recently off of SOTF 20 and SOTF 22. Pierre is looking to take on the former Aggressive Damage champion Elliot “Psycho” Saunders. The Psycho, is been on a two fight losing streak. A stain on his career he is looking to wipe away. It will no doubt be a hard thing for any fighter to do but Psycho is doing it with a move to a new organization. It surely is something that we will wonder about as to where Saunders sees his advantage in this match. It is widely accepted that Saint Roc is the better striker and is a Black Belt in BJJ, something Saunders has yet to attain. The main advantage I and anyone else who takes a minute to notice this fight will see is that Saunders is the better wrestler. That being said I will go ahead and say who I think will win. MY PREDICTION: Is going to go with Saint Roc. He has the ability to finish this fight in almost every area. This fight is going to put him literally in the top three for the title contention spot. Which probably means depending if everything goes right he will probably only need one more fight to win to get the title shot he has been so desperately seeking. Now im not the owner nor have I spoken with Marciano about this fight but I will say any fighter who is defeating top contention is bound to get a title shot. Saunders will be welcomed and introduced to how SOTF fighters throw down and if he can manage to defeat The Hammer he will shake up the entire division!

Kato vs Silva

Sun Kato is no doubt banging on the door for a title shot. The 33 year old warrior is looking to get one last title shot before the curtains close on his career. To do that he has to get past one of the toughest light heavyweights that SOTF has to offer in “indio” Junior Silva. Silva is unquestionably the best light heavyweight BJJ practitioner in SOTF has only one of his wins coming by way of submission in the SOTF. It doesn’t seem like to much to worry about for Kato since he has not been showing off his submission skills as of late. This fight everyone has been saying that Silva is going to be knocked out by Sun Kato. Heres the thing, Silva has only been defeated once by knockout. Other than that Kato has only achieved 13 of 30 wins by knockout. Yet he has never been submitted. It is like a straight challenge to see whether or not Silva can submit Kato. My idea on this fight is that it will only go the distance and it will come down to striking. I think Kato has been working on his take down defense more than anything else and with that in mind Silva who has also probably working on his takedown offense will be rushing for the takedowns. There is no way Silva is going to stand and trade with Kato and if he does he will be picked a part. He probably will not get knocked out but I would not be to surprised to see this fight go the distance with Kato getting his hands raised. MY PREDICTION: Kato will win by a second round tko. Silva will wear himself out with takedowns that he wont get and Kato will continue to strike at the exhausted Silva. If and only If silva gets him to the mat will be the only way he wins this match.

Liu vs Cottero

He has held multiple titles and now he has made the move to SOTF to eventually take the 135lbs title. Cotteros first fight comes against Liu who was the former no.1 contender for the SOTF title. Now he is facing what is looking like the future contender for the belt. In SOTF 22 men of mayhem Liu lost a unanimous decision against the champion. With his last five fights Liu has only one victory under his name. Three decision losses and one TKO loss has made many question if Liu still has the heart to compete. The 25 year old Chinese Dragon has won 3 fight of the night awards and 1 knockout of the night award. Needless to say he is an entertaining fighter. His opponent Tommy “the Terror” Cottero has won 5 fight of the nights 2 knockout of the nights and 1 submission of the night. Out of 17 fights 13 of those were ended before the judges can say who they thought should have won. Out of those thirteen fights 11 of those were knockout finishes. Now we can see were Tommy Cottero gets his nickname “The Terror.” Many want to see The Terror fight for the title and the debate circles that the champion deserves to fight against the other champion. That is just one argument but the opposite side says that Terror has yet to defeat anyone inside of the SOTF and even if he can defeat the Chinese Dragon, that is not enough to prove himself for a title shot. Definitely a controversial debate. The way I see it if Cottero wins very decisively he is right in line with a shot. If it goes the decision and even a unanimous I think he should wait a while. Now, it is not up to me but that’s what I as a fan would say. Now a lot is focused on Cottero rather than the Chinese Dragon. Why is this? The Dragon is not impressing the fans as of late. He has one win in his last five fights can he pull off this fight against the terror? MY PREDICTION is he definitely can. Infact I expect him too. We have watched The Dragon submit and be knocked out but we have also seen him knockout and submit opponents. My opinon is first this will be the fight of the night and secondly the Chinese Dragon is going to pull off a huge upset by the late stages of the third round.

Kai vs Silva 155lbs title

After winning the title back in SOTF 22, Toshihiro Kai has been eager to defend t for all of the survival of the fittest fans. No doubt he has been on top of his game not only to earn the title but to be the first lightweight champion of SOTF. Kai, a threatening standup artist with great ground work is looking to take on the first contender for the title in Junior Silva. Silva, a Black belt in Bjj, comes in with 9 submission victories in his fourteen victories. Junior Silva has been on a 7 fight win streak. In those seven victories five of those came in by way of submission. Whether it was an armbar, kimura, guillotine or triangle Junior Silva is one of the most deadly warriors when it comes to ground fighting. He was heard repeating the Machado brothers when they said, “The Ground is my ocean, I am the shark, most people don’t even know how to swim.” With this in mind there is no question what Silva is aiming to do. With one of his most recent victories Silva submitted Mad Max, a fellow Black Belt in Bjj the same night Kai had won the title. Both men gained something that night it was an impressive night and a memorable one for both men. The key here is that Silva is aiming to not just work the ground game but to keep it there. Its where his greatest strengths lie. If Kai is able to keep this fight standing and prevent the onslaught of takedown attempts he will no doubt win this fight. His standup game is to good for his opponent. MY PREDICTION: First off let me say that whatever happens come Saturday night, because I like so many others can really see this going either way, this will end up becoming a rematch. I feel as if eventually Silva will get the takedown on the champion and work for submissions. He will control him and grab an arm. His seven fight win streak is going to be the confidence factor in this fight for him and he will ignore the top ten status of Kai.

Allen vs Takahashi

Finally we come to our main event of the evening. A fight that is no doubt raising the welterweight division to a height is has yet to see. War Machine Ichiro Takahashi is taking on one of his toughest opponents as he fights Gary Allen. The two of these men are in the top fifty of their weight class and have most of their wins coming by way of knockout. The Flash, Barry Allen, is on a three fight win streak where he knocked out his opponents. One of the more interesting parts of this fight is that both Allen and Takhashi are the only two men to knockout Frederic Laurent. It was a fight waiting to happen. When comparing the standup of these two fighters you would almost have to give the edge to Allen. On paper they look remarkably even. In comparing the two fighters you would feel as if Takahashi has the edge with the mat but Allen, with most of his wins coming by way of knockout has an exceptional chance if the fight stays standing. This is probably the fight everyone is getting excited for more than any of the others. This is the type of fight you go in expecting a long brutal five round fight with both men tired and bloody almost like a shogun rua and dan Henderson except both of these future legends are in their prime. Now here is one thing I would like to bring up before we start to close this fight. Takahashi is on a nine fight winstreak. The only way he has ever lost was by decision. It was his first professional fight. After that he went on knocking out and submitting people. With that said and you look at Allen, he has lost both by submission and knockout. You would almost have to think that Takahashi has to feel extremely comfortable going into this fight knowing he can finish it virtually anywhere. For anyone who is really excited about this fight and wants more hype I will have two interviews for both of these men released to you Thursday night. My Prediction: Takahashi is in my book the man who will have his hand raised. This fight is dangerous no doubt but with the people he has been able to finish that were supposed to be dangerous for him he made look very easy. I don’t expect Allen to be an easy fight by any means quite the opposite I expect Allen hit Takahashi aggressively and accurately but I find that War Machine will pull off a knockout victory over the fastest man alive.
