Author:

Hello again I am “Sunshine” Weston Markson along with….uh Rudy?   …..Rudy?  oh yes Rudy “The Box” Knife, and me and sleepy are here to bring you HMMA 58’s preview.  Sunday night may very well be the biggest event in the history of HMMA it has 3 main event fights.  This card will be live on PPV for thousands to witness.

Rudy:   This is so huge and im going to shit myself yet again ok im awake now and im ready to see these fights already, I can not wait for this.  Two champions fight on Sunday, and two Hall of Famers, as well as so many fights that have the potential of title implications.

MAIN EVENT

French Toast (15-2) v  Julius "Lights Out" Lawson  (21-11-1)            265 lbs title

Weston:  The main event of HMMA 58 is a heavyweight championship fight between Champion and HoFer French Toast, and number one contender Julius Lawson.  Toast is making the second defense of his second title reign he is aspiring to not only make this title reign as equally successful but also more successful a hard task for someone who has had so much success in the HMMA cage Toast is Currently riding a 5 fight win streak and proving to the world how great he is, but Sunday Lawson will look to prove he is even greater, Lawson comes into this fight on a 2 fight win streak against a former champion, and one of the divisions brightest young stars.  Lawson is a veteran of the cage and former champion himself, he is very dangerous and looking to make a name for himself as the best in the division.

Rudy:  Let me tell you a story about Toast, I once saw this guy fight and he left his opponent so badly beaten that they took him immediately to the hospital afterwards, while checking him out they noticed several brain bruises, two broken bones in his face, a broken arm, and a torn ACL.  This is typical carnage for a Toast fight, when Toast fights expect something brutal.  The same can be said for the challenger, Lawson is brutal, he has the kind of knockout power that can put you to sleep even if he misses the target its like being hit with a sonic blast.  There is no doubt Toast wants this fight on the ground, where he can work on his brutal GNP, or find a submission, but most importantly nullify Lawson’s power.  For Lawson he knows the key to his victory is picking up his 22nd (t)KO.

Prediction:  two fighters that finish fights, but also two guys with a history of losing by cuts.  I think we see a cut loss for Lawson if he gets taken down, and a cut loss for Toast if he cant get Lawson down.

MAIN EVENT 2

Billy Danzinie" Danze (13-3)  v  Mr Stigu (22-15)

Weston:  The 2nd main event is another heavyweight bout between Billy Danze and Mr Stigu.  Danze the former #1 contender is fresh off a win against Smith Hammer a top ten talent in the heavyweight division.  Now he welcomes a newcomer to HMMA Mr Stigu who comes into this fight highly hyped with expectations from so many as a potential challenger and contender in the heavyweight division.  Stigu has been around the fight game longer then Danze having compiled more wins then Danze has fights.

Rudy:   Weston I don’t think that’s going to matter much fight time, both of these guys have experience and one might argue that even though Stigu has been around longer Danze has had more high profile fights.  This fight is going to have huge implications for the division.  Its going to be a classic striker vs grappler fight.  Danze the grappler and GNP fighter who apparently Mr. Theiatcres wants to have his babies, will without doubt attempt to get Stigu to the ground from the opening bell and work GNP and submissions to win the fight.   Stigu on the other hand is a boxer with 18 out of his 22 wins coming by way of (t)KO, I don’t think his game plan is a secret either. …… Yes that’s right he will punch Danzinie in the face as much as he can.

Prediction:  winner is the one who fights the fight where they want.

MAIN EVENT 3

"mr decision" Mike Tyson  (16-8) v "the Name is..." John Saunders  (15-0-2)          155 lbs title

Weston:  The 3rd main event of the evening is a Lightweight title fight between the undefeated, 3 weight class champion, the HoFer John Saunders, and number one contender Mike Tyson.  Since coming to HMMA Tyson has been on a very impressive run that has got the attention of the division, winning his first three fights even as an underdog in all of them.  Now he gets the opportunity to face the undefeated champion.  Saunders undefeated has been extremely impressive in his career, 15-0-2, with three titles in HMMA and status as a Hall of Famer.  Saunders has shown world class power in his strikes and killer instinct.  Does Saunders continue his impressive run or will Tyson be able to bring it to and end?

Rudy:  Tyson has really impressed so many people with his wins so far, he typically stands and bangs with his opponent picking them apart, but he holds a distinct advantage on the ground here he may try to take this fight to the ground and work some submissions.  While Saunders is always looking to put his opposition to sleep by whatever way he can standing.   Saunders if he wasn’t the champion and undefeated would probably come into this fight as the underdog but having never lost and seeming unbeatable comes in with the expectations of winning.

Prediction:  Once again until Saunders losses I can not pick against him.  Saunders 2nd round KO.
