FN 7 Preview Sepp Maier vs Elmo Elmo 2

Fight Night 7 is quickly approaching for SP-ICON in London brought to you by our first event held in Hard Knocks arena. This card will show case 3, yes 3, title fights. Our main event will see a rematch with two of SP-ICONS best in the Middle Weight division. Last time they fought Maier edged Elmo in a 5 round decision. Elmo is the second fighter to take Maier into the deep waters in Maiers past 12 fights, with a great 5 round war. Our Co-Main Event will future two light weight contenders Jesus Mendes, and Marvin Zaha, fighting to see whos next in line for a crack at the LW belt. This will be both fighters second fight in SP-ICON. With both fighters coming off a win, there will be some sure fireworks in this match up, as either fighter doesnt want to lose this once in a life time oppurtunity at a SP-ICON belt. This action, plus 8 more exciting undercard bouts, will take place on Friday, March 1st.

HEAVYWEIGHT: Hines vs Stone

Chris Hines (1-2, 18) takes on Brick Stone (1-3, 25) in our first match up of the night.  Hines will be making is SP-ICON debut hoping to turn things around and get back to his winning ways. Brick stone will also be looking to do the same thing by show casing his stand up advantage over Hines. Hines will be looking to show his dominance with his incredible heart and wrestling back ground. if Brick can find a way to keep this fight on the feet he just may put Hines out early. This fight will be interesting if it makes it out of the first round, with Hines showing phenominal cardio as one of his weapons. Both fighters will be looking for the win, but who will come out  victorious in this match up? Tune into FN 7 to find out !

HEAVYWEIGHT: Hyypia vs Assun

Sami Hyypia (8-4-1, 23) will be fighting Saulo Henrique Assun (19-10, 27) in the second bout of the night. Sami Hyypia will be looking to avenge his last lost coming by way of KO by defeating Assun in similar fashion. I heard reports that Hyypia is also looking to finish Assuin in such brutal fashion to increase his chances of a long awaited title shot. Assun is making his SP-ICON debut and will be looking to do whatever he can to make sure that Hyypia is all hype. Assun says if Hypiaa is a real man, he will stand and bang with me. If there's one fight to expect a devastating KO in, this would be the one, as both men pocess serious KO power and will be looking for a spectacular finish.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Kane vs Rayder

In our third match up of the night, Christian Kane (2-0, 25) takes on Mance Rayder (0-3, 20). Mance  has suffered 3 loses in a row and will defiantly come out in this fight more prepared then ever to ensure that he doesnt receive another upsetting lost towards his record. Rayder will also be looking to get active with his kicks early as he has the superior Muay Thai advantage against Kane. Kane on the other hand will be looking for ways to avoid Rayders kicks by displaying his boxing advantage on Rayders face. Kanes last fight also came by way KO earning KO of the night honors. Both fighters will be show casing some serious stand up skills looking for a KO, but who will do so first, Kane or Rayder?

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Gold vs Washy

Our fourth fight of the night will also be a middle weight showdown between up and coming star Gilbert Gold (3-0, 25) against Boris Wishy Washy (0-2, 25). Although Washy has showed two recent loses dont count his guy out. He has great boxing and will be looking to showcase it against Gold. A recent interview showed Washy telling reporters that "he has no problem being the under dog in this fight, it will make my KO against Gold that much better." Gold on the other hand is currently undefeated and has finished all his opponents by devasting KO's with only one of his fights making it out of the first round. This is a fight fans dream to see two top level strikers throw down the way these guys will on Friday. Gold responded to Washy's interview by simply saying, "come at me bro."

LIGHTWEIGHT: Belvedere vs Benevides

The fifth bout of the night will showcase two exciting LW vets Augustus Belvedere IV (10-7, 27) against Dave Benevides (13-14, 32). Both fighters will be fighting for there second time in SP-ICON. Belvedere coming off of a win in his last fight at FN 6 by way of TKO in just 29 seconds of the first round. Benevides on the other hand is coming off a lost in his SP-ICON debut and will be looking to get his first Win under SP-ICON. While Benevides will be looking to showcase his BJJ black belt, he'll need to get it to the ground first. Belvedere will be looking to keep this fight on the feet and do everything in his will to prevent from going to the ground. If Belvedere gets comfortable on his feet early, look for a early finish in this match up.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Haskins vs Kadota

An exciting middle weight match up between Todd Haskins (16-14, 33)  and Takashi Kadota (12-3, 28) will show case our sixth match up of the night. Kadota coming off a upsetting title lost in his last bout against Maier. Kadota will be looking to make his way back to the title by showing a dominate performance against Haskins to prove he deserves a title shot. Haskins is 0-2 in his last two fights in SP-ICON and will be looking to do everything in his power to ensure he doesnt take another lost in this showdown between two great middle weights. While most consider Kadota a huge favorite in this fight, do not count Haskins out in this match up. Remember, the under dog has nothing to prove, and everything to gain from this bout.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Brown vs Vanderbeet

The seventh bout of the night will show SP-ICONS first Champ vs Champ bout in SP-ICON history Danny Brown (8-2, 20) facing SP-ICONS very own LW Champ Horacio Vanderbeet (7-3, 19).  Vanderbeet will do everything in his pocession to prevent Brown from winning his belt. Vanderbeet is coming off of a 2nd round TKO stoppage against ex champ Jon Snow. While vanderbeet will be looking to show case his grappling skills, Brown will be looking to do the very opposite with displaying his arsenal of strikes. Browns has been unbeaten in his last 7 bouts with only one of those fights going the distance. If Brown has things his way, he'll be looking to do the same against Vanderbeet. Both fighters do not want to lose what they've worked so hard to get, so expect to see a high pace non stop action type of fight in this match up.

HEAVYWEIGHT: Voipapu vs Calypso

In our last undercard event of the night we bring you another great title fight between two of the very best the division has to offer at Heavy Weight  Eerikki Voipapu (16-7, 25) against Jack Calypso (12-6, 31). This match up will crown our first ever Heavy Weight champ in SP-ICON. Calypso is coming off a TKO victory in the main event of FN 5. Calypso will be looking to display his superior grappling advantage against Voipapu, while Voipapu will be looking for a highlight knock out with his devastating power and stand up advantage. Will Calypso's wrestling background be enough to win the title, or will Voipapu take this one home with highlight real knockout? Tune into FN 7 to find out !

CO-MAIN EVENT-LIGHTWEIGHT- Mendes vs Zaha

Our co-main event will be an exciting light weight match up between two of SP-ICONS most exciting fighters in the light weight division Jesus Mendes (23-6, 29) vs Marvin Zaha (1-1, 22). These two fighters will be competing for a #1 contender oppurtunity to fight for the light weight belt. Zaha is coming off a 2nd round TKO stoppage win in FN 4, and will be looking to do the same to Jesus by displaying his Muay Tai early. Jesus is unbeaten in his last 8 bouts with his last win coming by way of rear naked choke in the 2nd round at FN 6. Jesus said in a recent interview that hes going to beat Zaha, then take what is rightfully his from Brown. He also stated that, "Im not overlooking Zaha, I just believe Im the better fighter." Zaha heard about this interview and simply said, "I dont have much to say to, Ill do my talking in the cage." Neither fighter wants to let this oppurtunity slip away, but who will walk away in the cage with there hand raised? Only one way to find out, "Lets get it on !"

MAIN EVENT- MIDDLEWEIGHT- Elmo vs Maier 2

Our main event of the night will be a rematch between two of SP-ICONS very own and best Elmo Elmo (7-4, 25) vs Sepp Maier (29-19, 29). The last time these two met in the cage Maier took the belt from Elmo by displaying his fantastic grappling abilities in a 5 round decision victory (49-46). Elmo never gave up and found some later success in the 5th round with his striking, but wasnt quite enough to win him the fight, Although Maier is the slight favorite in this fight, Elmo said things would be different this time around because he plans on bring the fight to Maier. Will Maier capture another title win by decision or will he change things this time around and finish Elmo. Or will Elmo be able to find success early on defending the takedowns and get his striking going a lot sooner then last time. Either way, this fight is bound to be one of SP-ICONS greatest fights yet and will not disapoint the fans. So get your tickets now!!!
