185 lbs.: Jason Koontz def. Ryan Bowron via TKO (knees), 4:03 of round 1
Spectacular victory for Mr Koontz. Jason came out into the fight with very predictable gameplan based on his wonderful muay-thai skills. From the beginning the 19-year old was keeping a safe distance where from he kept scoring points with quick strikes. Ryan Bowron was helpless in stand up, he wasn’t able to catch Koontz’s leg and take him down. Finally, after two minutes of domination Jason has shortened the distance and he managed the clinch. He threw a bunch of sharp knees right to Bowron’s head and body, smashing him under the fence. Jiu-jitsu brown belt was fighting for his life, but Koontz was ruthless and he finally ended the fight with another knee to the head.

170 lbs.: Eric Bing def. Simon Williamson via unanimous decision, 5:00 of round 5
Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got a new welterweight champion! Eric Bing has showed big class defeating so far undisputed title holder Simon Williamson. The former champ did a good job in the early minutes of the fight, when he scored a good looking takedown. He also scored a few points on the ground, inter alia by working on arm triangle. Sounds good, but actually that was everything he had for striker Bing that night. After referee restarted them in stand up Bing begun his game. He shortened the distance and they landed under the fence in a tight Thai clinch. Eric threw few elbows: all of them landed, but only the last did serious damage on Williamson’s face – he got cut. Result: our contender comfortably won round number one. Champion answered in the second round. He took Bing down and beat him from the top, he also tried some Jiu Jitsu tricks but with no success. Williamson just exposed Bing’s biggest weaknesses. He used Eric’s ground blanks to win second five minutes of the action, anyway he was still completely helpless in front of contender’s striking skills. After two rounds we had a draw and only then Bing took full initiative. He completely realized Simon’s tactics. Although the champion was able to take him down one more time, in third round Bing comfortably won this one using Thai clinch. He did the same in fourth and fifth and after all his stand up proved as better than Williamson’s ground game. After 25 minutes of action judges scored this contest in favor of Eric Bing.

265 lbs.: Gniewomir Polaniecki def. Dante Smith via unanimous decision, 5:00 of round 3
That was a very entertaining fight, we saw two completely different styles in the cage. There was no surprise in their gameplans. Both of them have used their best sets but at the end of the day Polaniecki scored his fourth career victory. Although Dante Smith did good job in the first round. 27-year old beat Gniewomir in stand up, but he also showed good defense on the ground. Anyway, second and third round went to Polaniecki. In first one Gniewomir did nothing productive from the top, but he improved this very quickly. He kept scoring takedowns and lazy punches in second and third five minutes and that was enough to score unanimous decision victory.

135 lbs.: Chi Ho Kam def. Phill Smith via submission (armbar), 3:01 of round 1
Impressive show of Jiu Jitsu by Chi Ho Kam. I bet on him in preview and he didn’t disappointed fans. This time Smith’s big heart wasn’t enough. Also, 24-year old chose quite a surprising gameplan for grappler Kam, taking him down right after first bell. The Japanese native didn’t protest and they landed on the canvas. Nothing better for him. Smith has focused on position change, leaving Kam some space to work: another mistake! Kam perfectly swept Phill right into full mount – beautiful! First, he tried an armbar but with no success. Then he landed a bunch of nice shots from the top, another unsuccessful submission try, few body shots and final armbar run: this time he caught rival’s arm and twisted it seriously, forcing Smith to tap first time in his career.

135 lbs.: Jacob Barnes def. Wayne Sync via TKO (punches), 0:39 of round 1
Well, well, well. Jacob Barnes has just scored another knockout victory. You can’t underestimate it. He wasn’t my favorite, but he quickly made me eat my words. How? Sync decided to take him down which was a little bit puzzling because his natural environment is stand up. Barnes defended easily, landing straight left as a counter punch. Wayne tried one more time, and once again Barnes countered him precisely. Sync seemed not to learn and he tried one more time. This time Jacob’s counter was much stronger. He landed straight right hand exactly on Sync’s jaw knocking him down. Barnes jumped on him with another shots and referee has been forced to stop the fight. Nicely done by Jacob Barnes.

155 lbs.: Vasiliy Syrovatkin def. Gregori Rasputin via unanimous decision, 5:00 of round 3
I was expecting two possible scenarios in this fight. First one was Rasputin decision victory after total domination on the ground. Second was Syrovatkin victory after total domination in stand up. Russian won. Although that was very entertaining fight with a lot of valuable MMA content. They both showed class, but there can be only one winner. Rasputin scored only two takedowns from twenty tries and even when the action was on the ground he wasn’t able to do something productive. Syrovatkin kept defending very well from the bottom. In stand up that was just one actor theatre in favor of the older. Vasiliy’s clinch strikes weren’t the most powerful shots in the history of this sport, but he landed enough of them to score comfortably victory in each round and also in final result.
265 lbs.: Milano Mazric def. Robbie Robertson via TKO (strikes), 3:01 of round 1
What a performance from Milano Mazric, wow! I think there was no single person expecting that kind of finish. Of course, Milano’s boxing is quite good but in front of such a striker as Robertson he was to be helpless in exchanges. Somehow he just dominated Robbie in all areas, including stand up. Everything begun when Mazric countered Robertson in early seconds with a quick right hand to the jaw. Robertson lost his concentration and he spread his guard, leaving a lot of holes for the Italian. Every single hole in opponent guard means a chance to score a punch. Milano has scored a lot of them. He just completely outclassed striker Robertson, knocking him down after only three minutes of the action. Robbie was able to recover but not for long. He threw lazy shot, Mazric countered one more time landing massive uppercut which sent his opponent right into Morpheus’ arms.

135 lbs.: Brian Lima def. Ian Kingbridge via TKO (cut), 1:36 of round 3
Classic war between two different styles and classic victory for one of them. This time striking proved better than grappling. Brian Lima, a very talented muay-thai kickboxer just dominated BJJ brown belt Ian Kingbridge using his best set which is thai clinch. Lima scored every single punch he threw, he defended 26 takedown tries from Kingbridge, not giving Ian even small chance to show his Jiu Jitsu tricks. Nicely done! By over ten minutes of the fight he kept scoring punches, elbows, knees and other bad things which consisted for final result.

170 lbs.: Jimmy Johnson def. Chris Lappin via submission (strikes), 1:28 of round 1
This victory was probably the easiest one in Jimmy’s career. Lappin did nothing to defend himself from Johnson’s attacks. The other thing is that he was completely out of shape, not for the first time. Jimmy just crushed Chris in just over sixty seconds. He has scored quick takedown and he forced Lappin to tap due to powerful shots.

265 lbs.: Franze Munoz def. Cody Sheffield via KO (punch), 2:57 of round 1
That’s why so many people love the heavyweight division. One punch, just one, and you’re out. That was a very close bout in little favor of Cody Sheffield until Munoz landed this one deciding, powerful shot. They were fighting, they were trading shots and… bang! Munoz landed massive right hand to Cody’s jaw. Sheffield lost his labyrinth instantaneously. Franze jumped in with more strong shots, finishing poor Cody under the fence.
