 Po Sanders: Fox, thanks for joining me here today.
Fox Jacobson: Good to be here Po.
PS: Fox, you are now running a new, 210k+ ID restricted org, Contention. You had a highly profitable gym before this. Why the switch?
FJ: I've been in the Tycoon community for a few (game) years. I felt that I needed to earn my stripes and properly build my way up to running an org. I've had two goals since I joined this community: 1. Have very successful fighters. 2. Run a very successful fight organizations. My fighters have done well. The org was the next step. I built up my gym from a bottom tier to an upper tier, then moved onto the org business.
PS: Little known fact is that you actual gave away your gym for $1 dollar.
FJ: Yeah, I gave it away to fellow alliance member Harry Nutzack. It's all about the brotherhood. Shout out to the Evil Empire!
PS: Back to Contention, what is your goal?
FJ: It has been no secret that I want to model my org after Immortals: New York. I respect Peel Steel and have had many fighters in INY. I just joined the community a little to late to have my guys battle for the championships there. Here, I can have some newer guys compete in Contention, and continue the tradition of good smack talk and fair fights.
PS: As of this interview, your roster sits at 28 fighters. There aren't a lot of known names. Anything in the works?
FJ: I'm not going to give away any manager names until they've signed, but I've been in talks with several top managers. I'm talking top 100 managers. I'm talking a former #1 ranked manager. This org is great for the top managers as well as newer managers, and if you're a newer manager, this is a place where you'll need to grow up fast.
PS: Why Vegas?
FJ: It is a great place for an org. INY and Armageddon have the smack talk in NY, Vegas is in the Pacific time zone and will hold down the great smack talk for those folks. There also weren't any 200k+/210k+ orgs when I started planning. That changed pretty quickly. Two 200k+ orgs popped up around the same time.
PS: Any comments about those orgs?
FJ: No need. Contention is the place to be. Our first event is on 4/20. I didn't want to rush into the first event. I wanted to give my boys enough time to prepare as they are newer fighters. I look forward to the first event. Look out in the community for the first preview!
