 CFS 7: Preview

Prelims

(265lb) Alexander Dro Cop (1-4) vs Viktor Kyshenko (2-6)
These two guys are literally fighting for their jobs  here. They are riding a combined 10 fight losing streak and they really need to step up here if they wish to get their contracts renewed. The fight looks quite even on the paper but Kyshenko is having real problems with his energy level and probably won’t be able recover enough for the fight, so my guess is that Dro Cop will get an easy win this Saturday.

(265lb) Jaroslaw Psikuta (2-1) vs Peter Green (5-4)
This may have been a very close fight, but Green has some severe morale issues and Psikuta will probably knock his ass out in the first round and earn his second victory in the CFS.

(265lb) Andrei Zangiev (2-1)  vs Hamilton Bird (3-3)
Very close fight between two guys who are yet to taste defeat inside the CFS. Zangiev is the better wrestler of the two, but Bird has a  the edge in the standup department.  This one really comes down to which one of these warriors can execute their game plan better and force their opponent out of his comfort zone.

(170lb) Vasiliy Kharapov (1-1) vs Sherlok Holmes (1-1)
This one is a classic striker versus grappler fight in the welterweight division. Kharapov has got decent stirking and will hold the edge on the feet but I think that Holmes has a good chance to get this fight to the ground and finish the fight via submission.

(155lb) Edwin Odesseiron (1-2) vs Alexi Takala (4-2)
Anything can happen in the fight game but this one seems pretty clear on paper. Odesseiron seems to have the advantage virtually in every aspect of the game and he should take an easy win here.

(185lb) Yuri Harlamov (6-4) vs Carl Woods (1-0)
These should be a very close fight. Both guys have similar standup game and they both like to do damage in the clinch. Woods is the superior wrestler but he didn’t use those skills in his pro debut so his ground game is a mystery.  I’m gonna go with the more experienced fighter in this one and say that Harlamov will manage to pull of the win here.

Main card

(265lb) Joshua Lynch (1-1) vs Greg Garrison (1-0)
Two very talented heavyweights are gonna go at it in our first fight of the main card. Lynch is a very talented striker whereas Garrison has a real solid wrestling and BJJ game. This should be a really close fight but I think that Lynch will be able to keep the fight standing long enough to score the knockout.

(170lb) Simon Mcbride (4-1) vs Rashad Strasser (4-1) for the welterweight championship
Our second fight in the main card is the first championship bout of the evening. Mcbride is a submission specialist whereas Strasser is a remarkable wrestler and has pretty good hands to go with it. If Mcbride can get Strasser to the ground and work his brown belt ground game on Strasser he very well might pull of the submission and become the first CFS welterweight champion. However I think that Strasser, being the more well- rounded fighter here, can dictate where the fight takes place and take the belt.

(185lb) Rocco Silva (4-0) vs Luiz Lindland (4-1) for the middleweight championship
Our co-main event of the evening is battle for the middleweight belt. The setup here is pretty much the same as it was in the welterweight title fight. Silva is a wicked BJJ artist and could well pull of the submission if the fight goes to the ground. Lindland on the other hand has a massive advantage in the standup and is the overall more well- rounded fighter here. You probably guessed it already and your right, I’m gonna go with the more complete fighter here and predict that Lindland will get his hand raised and become the champion.

(265lb) Ching Ling (8-4) vs Wolfgang Schlosser (2-0)
Our main event is battle of two possible future heavyweight champs. Ling is a wrestling powerhouse with nasty submissions and vicious ground and pound. He is also one of the most experienced fighters in the CFS with 12 professional fights.  Schlosser has made a quick impact in the CFS with two brutal KO finishes. It has taken him only one minute and one seconds combined to finish his first two victims. If Ling can weather the early storm and take the fight to the ground he’ll probably get the win, but Schlossers power is something to be afraid of and he may very well get another fast KO here if Ling leaves him an opening to land those vicious punches.
