HEROIC

Author:

Hello everyone you all know me I am “Sunshine” Weston Markson, along with my co-host Rudy “The Box Knife”  We have come here to HMMA’s studio to discuss HMMA 74, this card is full of really awesome fighters and is dominated by the lightweight division, headlined by two lightweight fighters that have made impacts in their division in Seany Scholes, and the most hated man in all of MMA Masahiko “the bitch” Kimura. So Tune into HMMA 74 Sunday in London  and pray with me to see Kimura lose!

Rudy:  Weston I think you need to change your attitude towards kimura and see the light!  He maybe the most hated man in all of MMA but he is also the greatest BJJ fighter on the planet!  He told me so himself but we will get into that later.  This card is stacked of lightweight competition and even includes HoFer Liam Machin in what will be his retirement fight.

MAIN EVENT

4th "The Gracie Killer" Masahiko Kimura (9-2)  v  Seany Scholes (9-7)

Weston:  The main event of the evening is a lightweight fight between rising star Masahiko Kimura and Seany Scholes.  Now by now everyone knows that although I am usually impartial, buuuuttt I HATE Kimura with a passion.   This guy just keeps running his mouth and disrespecting anyone and everyone its time someone get into the cage and beat him to a blood pool now would be the perfect time before Kimura picks up a 6th straight win and cements himself as a contender.   Hopefully Seany Scholes is that man Seany is riding a two fight win streak and may have both the ground and standup credentials his developing standup game and his knack for locking on a submission is right up the alley of the 4th ranked Kimura who is one of the best BJJ artist in HMMA.

Rudy:  Weston you keep digging your own grave when you talk about the best Ju Jitsu practitioner in those ways.  Show the man some respect!  I am so excited to see “The Gracie Killer” get into the cage and toy with Scholes until he decides which limb he wants to take home and stick on his trophy case.  Im thinking he might go for a leg this time!   Or maybe we will see that Triple Decker Pecker Wrecker.  I know one thing like always the greatest fighter in the LW division is holding nothing back I caught up with him recently while visiting a children’s hospital and asked him how he felt about the match with Seany Scholes.  “Kimura: My match? oh yes you mean the reunion... have you seen that card Im on Rudy? Have you seen the names of the 155lb fighters that Im going to be associated with? Listen, what do the following ALL have in common? Rooney, Lewis, Jaa, Stroud... any idea? Ill tell you.... they have all been victims of me.... me King Kimura the greatest Ju Jitsu practitioner on the PLANET... why the f@ck do they all deserve to be on a card where the star attraction is sooo many notches above what they even dream to aspire to?? its not right, its not fair and WILSON if you are listening and I hope you are because all your stupid fans PAY you to do your job... Im gona break Seany Scholes, Im gona take his limbs and Im gona mail them to you.... do you understand? I dont deserve to be treated this way!!! Where is my fame? where is my fortune? And Seany... Seany my boy... its not too late to call it off... theres no shame in backing down from the "Gracie Killer"... Theres no shame is saying that you just cant get the job done... theres no shame is saying that you are scared... just ask Rooney, just ask Jaa, hey just ask Wilson... Im your worst nightmare Seany...... sleep well”

THIS is why I love this guy! And btw for such a “bad” guy Kimura was at a childrens hospital! Wilson better be checking his mail monday morning because i think there is going to be a present waiting and maybe he can send something to Weston too!

Weston:  and this is exactly why I hate him!  Look a the disrespect, he is insulting his former opponents, his current, future, even the boss he is lucky my name didn’t come out of his mouth or I would have to step into the cage with him and shut it!.

Rudy:  Oh Wes, you have trouble shutting the door no way you could shut Kimura’s mouth you wouldn’t last 30 seconds.

Prediction:  Kimura by TDPW!

CO-MAIN EVENT

Scott Lewis (9-3) v  Ryan "Wazza" Rooney (5-6)

Weston:  The CO-MAIN EVENT of the evening is another lightweight fight between Scott Lewis and Ryan Rooney.  Both of these guys are competing to improve their rank in the division.  Scott Lewis comes into this fight having had a lot of hype behind him from a 5 fight win streak, however since that streak he has alternated wins and losses and now finds himself in a spot to start another streak and get back into title contention.  Rooney comes into this fight making his 3rd appearance at lightweight.  His debut came in spectacular fashion as he beat Hall of Famer Liam Machin, but followed the win up with a disappointing loss to the man in our main event Kimura.  Can Rooney get back on track and start a run through the Lightweight division?

Rudy:   What a great fight this will be two guys who are very hungry, both of these guys are well-rounded although Lewis tends to ground his opposition and look for submissions while Rooney avoids the ground.  If he wants to win this fight that is what I suggest he does with four submission losses if Rooney ends up on the mat with Lewis he could very well go home with a 5th loss.  On the flip side I give the striking advantage to Rooney I think Rooney could score a KO if he keeps the fight standing.

Prediction:  I think Rooney does enough to earn a decision win.

MAIN CARD

George "The Easy Bake" Oven (12-7-2) v  "Fierce"  Takeshi Kusimuki (25-11)

Weston:  The last fight on the main card is a middleweight fight between George oven and Takeshi Kusimuki.  Both of these fighters have found themselves in the top 10 of the division, but recently have have been on the outside of the top 10.  A win could get them back on track and find a ranking in the top 10 by their name again.  George Oven’s most recent fight was a win against Mike Vallely this win helped rebuild his confidence after he lost in a title eliminator bout and found himself outside of the top 10 rankings.  Kusimuki came into HMMA with a lot of hype and expectations behind him, a lot of people had him pegged as a title contender, after winning his first fight against a fellow contender Kusimuki dropped two straight fights and failed to live up to what many thought would be a fast rise to the top for Kusimuki.  Now a win over Oven could once again propel him towards the top and refind some of his glory.

Rudy:   These two fighters are so evenly matched I really have no clue what to expect.  In the past both men have elected to stand and trade with the man standing across the cage and I have to think this fight will be no different.  When the fight starts expect a fast and frenzied action ending with one mans chin standing up to the others test.

Prediction:  Oven by TKO

Tom "Corpsegrinder" Stroud (12-7) v "My Boat's"  Flo Tinaway (8-7)

Weston:  More lightweight action in the next fight as Tom Stroud draws the task of welcoming Flo Tinaway to the lightweight division after an up and down career at welterweight.   Tinaway ended his welterweight campaign gaining revenge from an earlier loss by submitting one of the best submission artist HMMA has seen Isaac Newton.  If Tinaway has it his way he will have enough time to get a quick win and get back to his boat before it floats away.  Stroud has had a very solid career here in HMMA and has been here since the start, the HMMA veteran is well loved by the fans and the HMMA front office.  His most recent fight was a two fight win streak snapping loss to one of the competitors in the nights main event Sean Scholes.  A win here would give both men a chance to improve position and possibly make a run towards contention.

Rudy:  Both of these fighters have been around in HMMA for a long time, both are so highly respected and loved, and this is an extremely interesting matchup.  These two guys really have the skills to beat on another.  Stroud is well rounded but has a glaring weakness with four submission losses playing right into the hands of Tinaway.  Tinaway doesn’t have much of a striking game and Stroud will look to exploit that weakness.

Prediction:  Standing KO for stroud, if fight hits ground Tinaway by tapout

"Freak Armo " Armo Ojentaja  (6-3-1) v "The Gentleman"  Chuck Bonjesky (8-5)

Weston:  The next fight is a lightweight fight between Armo Ojentaja and Chuck Bonjesky.  Bonjesky is another one of the lightweights who has been around a long time, since the beginning,  in Bonjesky’s last fight he was able to capture revenge by winning a rematch against Ishi Kiki a guy he had lost to in the past.   Bonjesky now looks to get another win in what could be his biggest fight yet,  Armo is the toughest competition Bonjesky has faced and this is a real test for both fighters.  Armo was left with a sour taste in his mouth after his last fight ended in a draw.   This fight im sure he will be do everything he can to finish the fight.

Rudy:  These two are near mirror images of each other skill wise.  It will be really interesting to see how this one plays out.  Chuck is more decorated on the ground then Armo, but Armo can get things done there  as well, I think this fight will stay standing until one man get the upper hand and the other decides to look for the takedown.

Prediction:  I think Chuck wins this one by TKO

Liam Machin (11-6)  v  Tony Jaa (6-4)

Weston:  The HoF Liam Machins last fight, his swan song,  after this fight he will officially hang up the gloves and call it a career, what a great career its been.  11 wins 8 of them by (t)KO,  a championship run, and a never say die or backdown attitude.  Tony Jaa good luck in this one I think Machin wants to end it with a win.
