Hello Fred Meyer here to give you a re-cap of UPF-Hilo's most recent event UPF-H 33: Brown Vs Reem. And tell you how wrong I was in my predictions. Haha. There is a reason I am not a bookie. Haha. Anyways, with out further delays here was how the night went.

Undercard:

Maxim Markov Vs Igor Crazy

My prediction: I see Maxim winning via submission in the first half of the first round.

We started off the night with a jiu jitsu fighter Vs a wrestler. And boy was I wrong on calling this one. I thought the awesome submission skill of Markov was too much for "The" Crazy. But crazy proved that he had other plans. He laid hands all over Markov until he finally finished him in the third via TKO.

Igor Crazy def. Maxim Markov via TKO (strikes) at 1:13 of round 3

Ichabod Crane Vs David Yon

My Prediction: I think that the undefeated Crane will underestimate the former champ and see his first loss. Yon via KO in second round.

I proved once again why I do not set the odds on the fights. I thought the former champ would come out and level the seemingly over confident Ichabod Crane. But Crane wanted to prove to the world that he is championship material. Crane just outclassed Yon.

Ichabod Crane def. David Yon via TKO (strikes)  at 4:28 in round two.

Roz Dee Vs Lincoln Burrows

My Prediction: Well, this one could end up either way, but I think the power Burrows has will ultimately lead to his victory via KO in round one.

Well I actually called this one correctly. Lincoln came out swinging and Dee went down.

Lincoln Burrows def. Roz Dee via KO (punch) at 0:57 in round one.

Bobby Haley Vs Kibbe Sly

My Prediction: This one really could go either way. All I know is that someone might get tapped.

The last fight on the undercard. And I was  right about someone getting tapped out. Kibbe spammed submission attempts until he was able to lock one in on the tenth attempt.

Kibbe Sly def. Bobby Haley via submission (guillotine) at 1:17 in round one.

Main Card

Hank Patterson Vs Reijo Rymy

My Prediction: Rymy wins via decision.

The first main card fight we see boxer Vs wrestler again. I thought that Hank would do what he does. But would come up short to the wrestler Rymy. But Rymy was unable to stand toe to toe with Patterson and got taken out.

Hank Patterson def. Reijo Rymy via TKO (strikes) at 4:29 in round one.

Helge Fossmo Vs Sub Zero

My Prediction: Helge is hungry to get his belt back.  I think Zero will pay the price. Fossmo via TKO in round two.

Fossmo really dominated this fight. He took it to the ground and did his thing. I thought Fossmo would win in round two by TKO but Fossmo didn't want to wait that long and decided to finish him in round one.

Helge Fossmo def. Sub Zero via TKO (cut) at 4:32 in round one.

Jeremy Kroft Vs Stefan Pruvhe

My Prediction: Kroft via killer head kick

Kroft went up against Pruvhe for the number one spot and a shot at the belt. Kroft was eager for another title shot and ended Pruvhe very quickly.

Jeremy Kroft def. Stefan Pruvhe via KO (head kick) at 0:31 into round one winning the KO of the night honors.

Heavyweight title fight

Arnold Vegh Vs Rutger Crax

My Prediction: I feel that we are going to have a change in champs here. Crax via KO in round one.

In our first title fight of the night Vegh went up against former champ Crax. It was really a lopsided fight. Crax showed his class in this fight.

Rutger Crax def. Arnold Vegh via KO (punches) at 2:59 in round one to become the first ever three time UPF champion. Also awarded Fight of the Night honors.

Co-Main Event - Welterweight championship bout

Declan McCready Vs Sebastien Deveraux

My Prediction: Another toss up. McCready via split decision.

The co-main event was an exciting match up. I personally thought it was gonna be a closer fight. McCready did not seem to think so as he showed us why he was the tournament winner and current champ.

Declan McCready def. Sebastien Deveraux viaTKO (punches) at 2:27 in round one to remain the UPF welterweight champion of the world.

Main Event - Middleweight Championship Bout

Tony Brown Vs Henkka Reem

My Prediction: I see Brown winning this fight in whichever way he prefers. Brown via Submission round two.

Ok so I was WAY off. The champ fought well but he was trying to let Reem gas himself out. And that did not pan out so well for the now former champ. It took Reem, who has the better jui jitsu, thirty-four submission attempts to finally lock one in on Brown. Reem is honored with Submission on the Night.

Henkka Reem def. Tony Brown via submission (triangle choke) at 3:24 in round five to become the new UPF- Hilo middleweight champion of the world.

We also had UPF-Hilo fighter "Hurricane" Jose Lopez fighting over in UPF-LA against former UPF-Hilo fighter Mauricio "Pitbull" Calvancante in our first inter-org match up. Now I had not made a prediction  for this fight. Not sure who I would have picked since both fighters looked pretty much even on paper. It was a classic Muay Thai Vs Jiu Jitsu match up. But, the match was anything but even. Lopez came out and dominated the fight . Just goes to show what happens when a UPF-Hilo fighter fights anywhere outside of our org. We dominate. UPF-Hilo represent. Haha.

Jose Lopez def. Mauricio Calvancante via TKO (kick and punches) at 1:53 in round one to show that UPF-Hilo fighters are not to be messed with.

Well that just about sums up the UPF-Hilo's fights for this weekend. And, also let everyone know how badly I guess the outcome of the bouts. Haha. Until next time, I'm Fred Meyer signing off.
