HEROIC

Author:

Hello everyone I am “Sunshine” Weston Markson along with my co-host Rudy “The Box” Knife, and if we can get Rudy to stop interviewing fighters and get back in the studio we will break down HMMA 85 for you.   HMMA 85 is going to be an awesome event, headlined by a heavyweight title fight and CO-Headlined by the long anticipated HMMA debuts of two very good welterweight fighters.  As if that wasn’t enough we have a middleweight title fight, and a Hall of Famer in action! Its going to be a great night for fight fans and its all going to be live on PPV.

Rudy:  Just because no one likes you enough to talk to you doesn’t mean you have to come and give me shit about it “Sunshine”.  This card is stacked with great fighters and fights that are sure to make you wet your panties bra!

MAIN EVENT

#2 Shane Luger (18-3) v #C/1 Fedor Vladimirov  (14-4) 265 lbs title

Weston:  The main event of HMMA 85 is going to be one of the most epic battles to grace the HMMA cage.  The two best heavyweights in the division and two guys ranked in the top 50 of the heavyweight class worldwide do battle to determine which heavyweight is the greatest in HMMA.  This fight has a lot of interest in it and so many including myself can not wait for it to get here.  Fedor Vladimirov defends his title against Shane Luger! For Vladimiriov its his second title reign after losing the title in his 1st defense last time before getting it back in a rubber match, this time around Vladimirov wants to successfully defend his title in his first defense, and start a reign as one of the greatest Heavyweight heroes yet, but standing in his way the number one contender Shane Luger.  Luger has high hopes himself  and in his second HMMA appearance gets an opportunity to take on the champion,  after beating fellow ranked top 5 HW in his debut against Michael Noonan he earned as shot at the champion, being a former champion himself elsewhere Luger knows what it takes to achieve greatness but will he be able to pick up his 8th straight win and take home the HMMA heavyweight title?   Which one of these two sexy heavyweights leaves a hero?

Rudy:  This fight will have a godzillian amount of tension, either fight could end it in the blink of an eye with one shot!  These two are so evenly matched its nutty they are the same age, they started training the same time,  they both have big fight experience,  they have the same skill set from what Is known, and they both have fight ending power!   This one really will come down to who lands the shot.  Vladimirov has made a career on being that guy who lands the shot having won exactly 100% of his fights by (T)KO! He has exacted the art of the knockout.    Fefor has also earned a reputation as one of the most exciting fighters having never been to a decision win or lose.  In fact all but 5 of his 19 fights haven’t even made It out of the first round.   Luger may need to drag Fedor into the deep waters and rounds to help his chances at winning this one but he could also end the fight at any moment he has 15 of his 18 wins by (T)KO, and has only went to decision 4 times in his 21 fight career.  I don’t think we can expect this fight to go all five rounds so sit on the edge of your seat eat your nails and hope your guy lands the shot that ends the fight.

Prediction:  In such a close fight im taking the champion by TKO in the 2nd round.

CO-MAIN EVENT

#4 Richard “The Lion” Nixon (23-7) v  #2 Randy "Bouncy Balls" Marsh (24-15)

Weston:  The CO-MAIN event is a Welterweight fight between two top five ranked fighters.  Ricard Nixon takes on Randy Marsh.  Marsh has one of the cooler nicknames I have heard of “Bouncy Balls”  Its quite entertaining,  and so is he having developed a reputation as a fan favorite for his ability to string wins together and finish fights.  This Is his first appearance in HMMA but he is well known on the MMA circuit having captured championships in some of the best orgs worldwide.  Now he gets his chance in HMMA to show he is Heroic, his opponent Richard Nixon also a HMMA debutant looking to prove he too could be Heroic, Nixon also has good credentials having won numerous championships worldwide.  He also is a fan favorite with a reputation for putting on exciting fights and displaying fight ending power.  The winner here could possibly be in line for a title shot, but one thing is certain the winner will prove they are one of the best in the division, so which one of these debutants wins?

Rudy:  I am as excited for this fight as any in recent memory, two great welterweights with a history of finishing fights, and being exciting.  Nixon is more of a striker who has vicious KO power having 18 of his 23 wins by (T)KO. He does have the better standup and  “The Lion” can hold his own against most on the ground but Randy Marsh is just on another level, he is one of the few with world class BJJ, a red belt, and an elite Olympic wrestler.  Marsh has made a name for himself by putting guys on their back and pounding on them until they either go unconscious of leave an opening for a submission.  He does have excellent boxing skills as well, but he doesn’t have the total standup ability that Nixon does.  This is a close fight that will be determined by where the fight takes place.

Prediction:  If it get the ground Marsh wins, if it stays standing Nixon

MAIN CARD

#C/1  "The Sterilizer" Jean Pierre Babin (17-4)v  #2 Mr Translucent (16-8)               185 lbs title

Weston:  The last card heading into the main events is  a middleweight title fight between champion Jean Pierre babin and challenger Mr Translucent.   Babin is quietly making a name for himself as one of the best middleweights in memory he continues to improve every time we see him in the cage and tonight he hopes to make his 4th successful title defense, and get his 5th win straight, but his challenger Mr Translucent has other ideas.  Translucent has made a name for himself having won 4 straight fights in the HMMA middleweight division and picking up three of the night awards along the way.  Now the number one contender Translucent looks to be the first man to defeat the champion in the HMMA cage.

Rudy:  What great warriors these two are, they are awesome both fighters have great well rounded skills, JPB as I will call him has a better striking game then the challenger but the challenger has the better grappling, although both men are well-rounded and can test each other in all aspects of MMA.   JPB has finished 15 of his wins by (T)KO,  so he will be looking for the finish, but if he comes in to aggressive he may find himself on his back looking up at Translucent throwing GNP and working for a submission.

Prediction:  Until the champion losses ill keep picking him  by (T)KO.

#5 "Bag Of Bones" Michael Noonan (17-5-1) v #10 French Toast (16-5)

Weston:  You know Rudy anytime HMMA hall of famer French Toast enters the cage the fans are in for a treat.  This is a former two time champion, quite possibly the greatest Heavyweight to grace the HMMA cage.  Coming in ranked 10th and having lost 3 out of his last 4 looking to get back on track and move back into title contention a win over Noonan would do just that for Toast.  Toast is a winner and has only lost to guys that are also elite he is always dangerous and presents a huge threat to whomever he faces, enter Michael Noonan equally as dangerous a fighter making his 3rd appearance for HMMA who knocked off Toast’s friend Billy Danze in his first showing,  after that he had a number one contenders bout with Shane Luger.  A loss in that fight was just a minor setback that earned him a date with the hall of famer French Toast.

Rudy:  This will be a fascinating fight between two of the most talented grapplers in the heavyweight division.  Both Toast and Noonan have gotten where they are by their ground game in particular ground and pound.  Noonan has won 12 fights by (T)KO, and Toast the same 12 wins by (T)KO.  Also both guys have lost by cut before, this could be one of those fights that turn into a war, a blood bath, both fighters have similar styles and skills both have power, both have great wrestling and GNP, and both bleed! Stay tuned for a crimson mask.

#6 Furious "Fury" George (18-7) v Joe Davis (23-14-1)

Jurij Vitalenko (18-12)  v  Retsu Kaioh (19-10)

Weston:  The other fights on the main card excellent fights between some very good fighters and up an comers.  Furious George is making his debut against Joe Davis in a lightweight fight that is expected to draw a lot of interest.  George comes in highly ranked but can he live up to the expectations? Davis will be the first to find test him out.

Rudy:  I really like the Jurij Vitalenko, Retsu Kaioh fight, this is a fight between two heavyweights just sitting outside the top ten rankings but with a win will most likely find themselves moving into the top 10.  Vitalenko has won 4 straight fights picking up three of the night awards along the way.  Beating Kaioh riding a two fight win streak of his own would be a huge lift in his stock.
